Stings a bit given his lack of 5-on-5 value, but it won't kill them - certainly preferred over a 2 year deal, and especially (gulp) the $3.85m figure.

I've heard rumors Boston could have potentially gotten him a bit cheaper on a 2 year, but didn't seem to have any interest in doing that.

I still think it is < 50/50 he is on the team by December, if not by training camp.

Money is basically fair for what he is

Money is ok. I don't like the idea of him playing for the Bruins and want either Czarnik or JFK in his spot. I loathe the player, and he's only good on the PP. I don't see a role for him long term, and really want him to be traded like yesterday.

Still, good to avoid arbitration. I would imagine it would have gotten very nasty in that hearing.

Deal is reasonable. I hope they can trade him now for a winger for Krejci's line or a left shot D.

In the current iteration of the NHL and the way the game is played (centered around speed, skill, quick transitions from D-O, etc.) it's frustrating to watch Spooner play when he is in the lineup. His level of timidity is mind-numbing at times.

Hopefully he can be traded and JFK will get a long audition in camp to take the third center's spot.
