He isn't leaving Atlanta, but he's just about my favorite non-Sox player, so a guy can dream. Although I'll take Schwarber as my consolation prize.

Snitker left in Davidson too long, but otherwise think he did a good job tonight. Went for it with Minter, when that ugly Maldonado walk - Marwin bloop flipped the game ,he's appropriately punted and let Smyly clean up.

Yep. I said in some other thread that they'd burn Atlanta again if they let him leave.
Boston had a chance to, well, maybe not slam the door on Houston but at least push it mostly shut after Bogaerts' 2-run homer in the first in game 4. They let the Astros back in it and voila.
Atlanta had a chance to completely slam the door last night after the grand slam, but they, too, let the Astros back in it. I wouldn't at ALL be shocked if the Astros won the next two at home.

I suppose, but when the game is Framber Valdez vs. Tucker Davidson, that's not going to be a matchup favoring Atlanta. Even going into the game I figured that Games 6 and 7 were more likely to be Atlanta wins than Game 5. And going into Games 4-5 without a real starting pitcher, winning one of two was really the best that Atlanta could hope for, and that's what they got. They're still in good shape.

Something bothered me last time. The afternoon before the game, the mlbn guys, with Pedro taking the lead, interviewed Minter at length on his approach to the Astros. Naturally, I can't remember the details, but he went into them, saying what he threw on what side of the plate. At the time, I winced, thinking he was giving too much away. Well, we all saw what happened. Maybe there's no connection, but I think people should keep their mouths shut about their technique.
The hitters and teams all know where their hot zones are and the pitchers and teams all know where and what the pitchers throw that is the most effective. In fact, anyone with access to the internet does.
Personally, I wouldn't worry about Minter or any other players giving too much information away when they talk about easily accessible data like that.
It was probably a case of seeing the same pitchers three days in a row plus some fatigue.

That should have been replayed and overturned. Brantley never touched the bag and Fred's other foot dragged across it.
