This. He had Osman on him and could have easily broken him down. They screwed up the 2 for 1 and Towns needed to abuse Osman on that switch.

this is ridiculous, other than Lebron and maybe Love (and maybe Crowder) no one on that roster had any trade value to begin withThe sideline reporter just said that they are still working diligently on trading for Jordan, but the Brooklyn pick isn’t on the table. She also said that their recent poor play has submarined the trade value of most of their current roster.
4 guys in the backcourt defending the heave.Great effort by LeBron but holy shit was that bad defense by Minnesota at the end. How do you give up that look to that player?
I look forward to Atlanta hanging 120 on them Friday night.Cavs figured out how to fix their defense. Just shoot 60% and drain a record number of 3’s.
He's providing massive negative value. He shouldn't be on the floor.Good ending for Cleveland but they have to find a way to dump IT. He is pretty much unplayable.
He only took 8 shots (3-5 3Ps) last night. Lue also switched him out on defense as I understand so maybe the Cavs are getting the hang of this. 129 ORtg last nightHe's providing massive negative value. He shouldn't be on the floor.
We were looking for “Is this the worst defensive run since Super Bowl LII?”Each team shot 60% lol. Is this the worst defensive run in modern history?
How about "the worst defensive run since the second half of Super Bowl LI"?We were looking for “Is this the worst defensive run since Super Bowl LII?”
Too soon?
I wonder if people are going to eventually realize that he was never actually that good here, either. In a lot of ways, despite the Celtics' success, he was the beneficiary of playing on a team without many options. He looked impressive, on one end of the floor, except when teams trapped on him or collapsed on him inside. And on the other end of the floor he was a fucking disaster at all times. BPM liked him, but BPM usually likes high-usage guys who play offense regardless of whether they can play defense.I feel really bad for IT. He went from the man in Boston to this dumpster fire. He looks cooked but the situation sucks.
They could also get a 2019 1st back instead, right?Everyone on twitter keeps saying the Brooklyn pick is no longer in play since the Cavs dealt their first rounder. That's not quite true. They could trade that pick if they got another first rounder back in the deal. So theoretically they could deal the Brooklyn pick for Jordan as long as LAC flips the Pistons pick back. That probably won't come into play today, but it's worth noting.
Because he was that good here. Granted, most of what you are saying is correct - he had the perfect system for him and the perfect set of teammates - but he still played great and Brad managed to hide (at least substantially) his defensive deficiencies.I wonder if people are going to eventually realize that he was never actually that good here, either. And he is an asshole. This is not new in Cleveland. He just didn't have the leash to be his full-asshole self in Boston.
That people still miss him is mystifying to me.
Probably neutral from a talent standpoint, but it may help with their chemistry. How much better does this trade make Cleveland? Defensively, they should go from a giant dumpster fire to a small dumpster fire without IT on the floor.
I think that is correct, yes. They could also get a 2019 1st back instead, right?
Joe Kerrigan will hand-deliver it to him in the offseasonDoes this mean IT is never getting his video in TD?
Sure, when teams send you assets for free, why not?Favorites in the east again?
Not really. Bid to keep him, but also younger upside players for if he leaves vs aging vetsSo, this signals Lebron is staying in CLE right?
Hell no. He helped free up a ton of money for the Lakers, he’s a goner. So, this signals Lebron is staying in CLE right?
Not really. The chances are probably better than they were yesterday, but LAL just got a lot more attractive, too. I think Cleveland did the best they could under the circumstances but Lebron is still going to look around this summer for his best opportunity to win more titles. So, this signals Lebron is staying in CLE right?
Yeah, there was article out in last few days that Cavs have pivoted away from listening to everything he wants because he won't give them clarity. Not really. Bid to keep him, but also younger upside players for if he leaves vs aging vets
I see it as exactly the opposite. They had NO chance at a title with that roster. They just got younger and more energetic on D, and surrounded Lebron with way more complementary players than he had before.Cleveland probably got a little bit better today, by getting rid of IT and D-Rose, but they also kill any hope at a championship IMO.
They get better on average but lose upside. Their only (extremely remote) shot at a title would've been if IT and Crowder started playing like they did in Boston. Now they traded IT for a couple better players but with lower upside.
One thing about the Cavs haul: Jordan Clarkson is criminally underrated ... talented gamer, inexpensive, not yet in his prime, and his teammates love him
Eh, I still get the strong impression LeBron is counting the days till he never has anything to do with the loathsome Dan Gilbert. He got his hometown its first title; now his work there is done. I doubt this remotely changes that basic calculus, but I do think it significantly improves both the chemistry and the talent on the team for his last run (as a Cav) at a title. So, this signals Lebron is staying in CLE right?
Ball, Ingram, George, Kuzma, Lebron is a pretty not good teamHell no. He helped free up a ton of money for the Lakers, he’s a goner.
It would be an all-time "I hate these guys" team though.Ball, Ingram, George, Kuzma, Lebron is a pretty not good team
Ty Lue doesn't strike me as the personality to bring them all together either.I get that it might "improve the chemistry" in the locker room -- because, apparently, it couldn't have gotten worse --but you never know what bringing in so many new parts will do. Maybe the group they bring in won't gel as well
If it couldn't have gotten worse, there is definitely nothing wrong with rolling the dice and trying something new. Is there any downside when you're at a "It cannot get worse," level?I get that it might "improve the chemistry" in the locker room -- because, apparently, it couldn't have gotten worse --but you never know what bringing in so many new parts will do. Not gel as well? I can't imagine it being any worse than it was. I've never seen a team that looked that disinterested and unhappy with each other.I get that it might "improve the chemistry" in the locker room -- because, apparently, it couldn't have gotten worse --but you never know what bringing in so many new parts will do. Watching the videos of the Cavs' defense these past few weeks is an indication the players hated each other and had no interest in doing anything or expending any energy. Not gel as well?
