If Chicago twins Todd Frazier with Sale, that would cover the 3B/DH hole ... and make the board implodeKen Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 59s60 seconds ago
Multiple sources now saying that #RedSox have built momentum toward a deal with #WhiteSox for Sale.
If they actually have to beat Robles and Giolito, yeah, that's a frightening thought. Moncada, Devers and Kopech to start. Or a major league piece like Benintendi or JBJ in place of Moncada maybe. As I said in the MLB forum thread, I don't want to see them blow their entire prospect load on one trade unless it's a monster deal with more useful pieces coming back (like Abreu, Robertson or Jones, Todd Frazier...). And even then it's really tough to swallow moving that kind of prospect capital.I'm terrified of a Sale deal. Terrified.
This isn't a chatroom. There's a slack channel available for this kind of thing.*heavy breathing*
Wait, what was the Pomeranz fiasco? The idea of trading a lot of the farm for Sale with his risk of injury after the Pomeranz fiasco is terrifying.
I'm guessing there aren't too many people here who would be THAT upset over what amounted to a Moncada for Sale swap with the rest of the pieces being ancillary. I don't think that's a realistic possibility, though, with the rumor of Robles and Giolito on the table from the Nationals. Of course, these things get exaggerated and misrepresented in reports all the time, so maybe it's Robles OR Giolito.I'm not opposed to trading Moncada for Sale, it's the other parts that are surely to be included that give me pause.
SD having 2 different medical reports, one for trades, one for in house.Wait, what was the Pomeranz fiasco?
The only way I've talked myself into it so far is if the deal is lead by JBJ instead of Moncada or Benintendi. Something like JBJ, EdRod, Devers and Kopech is a strong offer and you can add a piece like Basabe or Travis, if required. The upside of Moncada and AB is just too high for me to give them up in a deal that is going to require 3-4 more valuable pieces to get it done.I'm terrified of a Sale deal. Terrified.
I hear Drake LaRoche is coming with Sale no matter where he goes.I'm not opposed to trading Moncada for Sale, it's the other parts that are surely to be included that give me pause.
Ah got it, thanks.SD having 2 different medical reports, one for trades, one for in house.
I've been shocked before, but I really don't think Benintendi is going anywhere. My guess is that Moncada is the one being dangled.Crap. Dave is going to trade Benintendi isn't he?

Especially now that one of Buch/Pomeranz has to go now, right? If they want Sale, God do I wish they still had Espinoza instead of Pomeranz. So many repercussions to that damn trade.
Can't have it all - we're not going to get him.Justin Turner would look really good about now.
Nick Castellanos, Michael Fulmer and Daniel Norris? How much more than EdRod would it take to get Miggy at his 7/$212 contract?
Golf clap.Nick Castellanos, Michael Fulmer and Daniel Norris?
Wright, who has never played this game before, will trip and fall while getting into one of the chairs. So there are two chairs and three people in the room. Wright Pomeranz and Buchholz. Wonder who is going to be left standing?
I guess Phil Rogers was pretty credible last night when he said this.Phil Rogers on MLBN says he's hearing the Red Sox more and more on Sale. Says the rumor is that Moncada isn't untouchable and DD would move him in the right deal. Throws out there that David Robertson is a name the Sox are interested in as well.
Buch probably nets a few prospects to replenish the farm. For Pom, though, maybe Valencia plus prospects. Valencia would be expendable if Seattle signs Trumbo.Dumping off Buchholz's contract obviously makes sense in itself, but what would a potentially good fit for trading Pomeranz even look like coming out of Seattle?

Think it would have to be Kyle Lewis+, and a pretty big plus given the uncertainty of his career after his knee injury, if you're going for prospects alone. Tyler O'Neill (#2/60 overall) is a power threat OF in AA who showed good adjustments with the bat this year but isn't much of a fielder, Nick Neidert (#4, A) and Andrew Moore (#9, AA) are both potential back end RH starters with good control.Dumping off Buchholz's contract obviously makes sense in itself, but what would a potentially good fit for trading Pomeranz even look like coming out of Seattle?
I'm guessing that Seattle will consider Kyle Lewis a non-starter. He's their top prospect and really the only one they have that's great. That said, I'd be interested in something like Edwin Diaz and Tyler O'Neill+ for Pomeranz. Of course, if the Red Sox are going to trade Pomeranz for a reliever, they might be inclined to just move Pomeranz to the pen and move on.Think it would have to be Kyle Lewis+, and a pretty big plus given the uncertainty of his career after his knee injury, if you're going for prospects alone. I agree. That's why I write "Valencia plus prospects."Valencia would be a terrible return for Pomeranz.
