I watched that segment last night and the segment before, which included Willie McG and Michael Silverman, among others.  Silverman's take was essentially that recent moves in the division have in fact rendered it wide open.  Willie Mac essentially laughed at him (implying it's still the Pats' to lose) and said Silverman's opinion didn't mean much because he "never put on a pair of shoulder pads".  (But he didn't say it in a mean-spirited way; Silverman asked how to put on shoulder pads and Willie Mac said you step into them and pull them up past your waist to your shoulders, and they got a good laugh out of it).
