Mitchell just got absolutely rocked. Emmett caught him absolutely clean. Full out convulsing from the right hand. Unreal.

That was the first time I have seen the derrick lewis commercial. That was perfect.

That was such a bizarre fight from Colby it's like he watched Aldana eat leg kicks and decided it was a good idea.

I had it 48-47 Edwards. 4&5 Covington. Colby should have taken a tune up fight. He looked rusty and had a weird strategy. As soon as he wrestled even on a bad wheel he was competitive.

Gave Colby the last 2 too, but I don’t think Edwards grapples so much if he didn’t have the comfy lead. Colby couldn’t do anything to him.

Who gets a shot at Edwards next do you give it to Belal or do you ride the 18 finishes wave of Shavkat.

I didn't have Covington winning R4 but it was competitive and certainly gave him R5. Colby went on a semi-rant that he easily won 3, 4 & 5 calling out the judges as biased bc they hate him due to him supporting Trump is such a Trump play.

After the Port Cellar debate on whether Draymond is a threat to kill a player on the court (pretty ridiculous imo) I did have an eerie moment of their being the first UFC death during as Bryce Mitchell was unconscious on the mat convulsing.

My son was watching some of the prelims with me, a bit glad he went to bed before Emmett v Mitchell. He is starting a sparring camp for his martial arts class since his sister just won Silver Medal at a NE regional. But now his mom is second guessing it based on that punch. It was insane.

How did his Mom feel about the Aldana/Rosa match? I had just shown my wife some legendary Women's Bare Knuckle post-fight interviews earlier in the day and as this fight was progressing she commented, "Are you sure this isn't bare knuckle?"

Wife didn't watch Aldana/Rosa, but my son said, "Wow she just keeps kicking her leg like Meema (his older sister Mia)!" He's super hype about the WMMA because of his big sister it's awesome.

First PPV of 2024 is 3 sleeps away and while this card feels like it should take place in the Apex there are some pretty interesting stylistic matchups. Several fighters who should take control of their matchup as the minutes go on against an opponent who could put their lights out early. I’ll be watching at a casino and it’s a good thing bc I’d feel dirty paying $79.99 for this card.

Sean Strickland with some very disturbing and NSFW comments. May be more V&N, but UFC needs to say something here.

This guy seems like a piece of work. Not just the homophobic rhetoric. That entire clip is insane. I bet he still stuffs smaller people into lockers and give them swirlies.

Looks like I have someone new to root against really hard. Hope he gets his bell rung on Saturday.

This is more of a V&N topic, but I'm not a big MMA guy and part of it is definitely how openly toxic and ignorant and often hateful some (not all of course) members of the community are. Trump getting big pops at events doesn't help either.

Yeah didn’t a couple fighters say the f starting slur in post fight comments a few months ago with Dana saying they’re never going to police fighter comments?

Honestly, I have no idea. I don’t follow the UFC at all. My only exposure to it over the past 2 decades has been from Rogan podcasts back in the day. This popped up on my Reddit feed while I was doom scrolling.

I will be SHOCKED if the UFC responds to Strickland's comments in any way.
You won’t be shocked because it won’t happen unless it is a response to support the fighters freedom to express and say whatever they want. White has been adamant on this in the past I believe when Covington went ballistic about someone wearing a Black Lives Matter shirt and some other stuff.

Think DDP won but maybe not by enough to win the belt. Strickland is gonna hate rewatching this. He was way too passive. Nobody with a job that strong should be backed up. And there were a couple times he had DDP hurt and didn’t follow up. DDP to his credit was always sure to come back strong right after getting hit.

I can't wait to see Izzy/DDP. Strickland seemed to really pull a Covington and just didn't do meaningful amount of attacking, which was just a poor choice just like Barriault. The inaction man's fight turning into a counterattack the counterattack battle and the co-main being unexciting at least meant my old ass could take a couple naps in the lead up to the main. That was not a card I'd want to have paid $600 for a nosebleed seat, yikes. Magny though, he still got it, poor Canadian men couldn't get a single win...including Drake.

Malott has had those fraud flags raised for awhile now. That was the def of death gas when you only need to survive a R3 then get finished by ole pillow hands himself. Male Canadian fighters finish the night 0-7….so much for home cooking scorecards with a couple that easily could have went the other way. Ouch.

Why is UFC 298 on Sunday this weekend and why is it so early (5pm Eastern)?
It’s not. It begins at 6:30pm EST assuming all 12 go (if we lose one that will get pushed back). Early prelims on ESPN+, prelims begin 8pm on ESPN, and PPV at 10pm.

There are several fights on the undercard that have potential to finish really quick which leaves those annoying large gaps to time appropriately for the PPV and ESPN.

Oh, you know what? I was logged into my VPN on an Australian server when I googled "UFC" last night. Hahaha!

I couldn't believe my eyes!

Has the Topuria knockout of Volk been posted on the internets yet?
I've run the Google machine a couple of times, but keep coming up empty.
