I'm a Deion guy. I think Irvin sucks but am predisposed to dislike him after watching him push off on NYG db's for about 100 of his career catches. Deion interacting with players is always good TV. For my money he's the only guy on any of the NFL channels that could fit in with Shaq, Chuck and the crew.

As for Sapp, he's a horse's ass and won't be missed. As big of an a-hole as he seems to be I figure the NFL network was waiting for an opportunity to can his ass. Too bad Kenny Powers can't take credit for getting him canned.

I love Deion and particularly Irvin.  Irvin's proclamations are the best - aural red meat.  I'd agree with Deion being great with athletes and he'd fit in with Chuck, Kenny, etc., but have to include Irvin.  Sanders and Irvin are loose-goosey, have fun, will playfully disagree, and go off script for stuff that's usually pretty funny.  Also, they LOVE Tom Brady.  They never say "Tom" or "Brady," as it's always "Tom Brady."  Marshall Faulk is terrible;  he can't keep up and as we found out with Deflategate - he's also a hypocrite.

Sapp is the worst - a cackling no-nothing who gives off the air of zero conviction in his opinions.  Glad the gravy train stopped.  Bring on Mayock please, either here or dump Simms (I can only dream...).

pro Football Hall of Famer Warren Sapp told authorities he paid two women $300 each to perform sex acts before his arrest earlier this month, according to a report released by Phoenix police.
Sapp, 42, faces misdemeanor charges of soliciting prostitution and two counts of assault and is due back in court on Monday.
If convicted on the prostitution charge, Sapp faces a minimum of 15 days in jail and a maximum penalty of $2,500 in fines, six months' jail time and three years' probation, according to the Associated Press.
According to the police report, which was obtained by the Arizona Republic, Sapp was at a bar at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Phoenix on Feb. 2 when he started to talk to two women, ages 23 and 34, who said they were strippers at a Las Vegas club. Sapp then invited the women to his room.
Sapp allegedly threw $100 bills at the women in the room as they danced for him. He later told authorities that he paid each woman $300 for sex acts and that he recorded the event on his phone, which he later showed police.
He told police that the 23-year-old performed oral sex on him while they other woman hid in the bathroom, The Arizona Republic reports. She did not come out until she heard Sapp arguing with the younger woman. Sapp told investigators the woman began to yell after he refused to pay her more money for intercourse, according to The Arizona Republic.
The report says the woman told police that Sapp grabbed her by the arms and threw her out of the room, knocking both women down.
"He told her several times that she needed to leave but she was irate," the report said. "At one point, she used Warren's phone to call security to his room."
Sapp was fired from his analyst job with the NFL Network after his arrest. The 23-year old woman is facing a prostitution charge, and the 34-year-old was cited for violating Phoenix’s escort permit requirements.

Is the 34 year old going to be charged with larceny by trick? (Or lack thereof, as it were)

--------------------------

Seems pretty clear that the assault happened because the 34 year old wouldn't give her share back, huh?

Have fun, Warren.

Miami (oh, Miami!)
I love these sort of things.  Everyones' guilty/a bad actor, but dammit, they're going to be vindicated about that one issue in contention, no matter how bad anyone ends up looking!

While often not nearly as funny, dealer on dealer crimes can also be something special to watch unfold.  Sadly, they almost never go to trial.   I do have a lovely, but unused cross for a burglary "victim" - he ran a grow house across from an elementary school.  The defendant allegedly axed open the door and took some stuff, including a shotgun, IIRC.  Much of the case hinged on the testimony of the victim.  And we can all completely trust the word of a shotgun wielding guy who runs his grow house 50' from a kindergarten, right?

Moved the ravings about drug policy to the appropriate forum.

Well, actually, no--I moved them to V&N. But whatever.

I love that he rolled over and put the water bottle in the trash can in the middle of that.

I don't really see that as "freaking out" like the headline says. Clearly he's disbelieving with what happened and talking to himself, but I kept waiting for the big freak out.

More trouble.  Per TMZ:

Warren Sapp has just been charged with 3 counts of domestic violence stemming from an incident in Las Vegas ... where officials say he bit and stomped on his girlfriends head ... TMZ Sports has learned.
According to official documents obtained by TMZ Sports ... Sapp attacked his longtime girlfriend Chalyce Moore on April 28th at the M Resort in Las Vegas.
According to the police report, Sapp allegedly threw a margarita in her face at the pool at the M Resort. They left the left the resort together and traveled to the condo where the woman was staying.
During the car ride, the woman says she told Sapp to get out of the car ... but he responded by BITING HER MIDDLE FINGER.
According to the docsm, they arrived to the condo a short time later and the violence continued.
At some point the women says she threw a belt at Sapp -- but ended up on the floor ... and while she was down, Sapp stepped on her face while wearing Jordan sandals.
Cops say they went to the M Resort and watched security footage that showed Sapp violently pulling on his GF's arm ... "causing her to be taken off her feet briefly."
Chalyce's friend told police that Sapp's GF has sustained multiple injuries -- including a bruise on her lower lip, abrasions and bruises on her shoulders, bruising on her legs, and a bruise on one of her temples with a checkerboard imprint (presumably from Sapp's Jordan sandals).
Moore also spoke with police ... and told them she thinks she suffered a concussion because she had a stiff neck, headache and was vomiting after the incident.
He's facing 3 counts of battery constituting domestic violence. He's due in court on July 23rd.
Story developing ...

Do we really need product placement in a fucking news report? I don't understand why the fact that his sandals were Jordans is even remotely worth mentioning.

With that said, Sapp really isn't having a good year. I think maybe he needs to spend some time in the pokey to reassess his choices in life.

Also important: is Chalyce pronounced "CHA-lis", "SHA-lease", "CHA-lease" or "KA-lease-ee"?

I'm glad I'm not the only one for whom this was the primary takeaway from the blurb.  Spot-on first reaction to a story about domestic violence.  Go us.  Frankly, it's the author's fault for mucking up the lede.

I'm laying money on "SHA-lease".

Sadly, you are probably right.  As a GoTs fan, I was irrationally hoping it was pronounced Khaleesi.

I think it's pronounced "Ex-Girl-friend".  But if she stuck around through the prostitute arrest, who knows?

Did he use her checkbook last time for the prostitute? Maybe she stuck around in order to get the check returned.

. The point of it was obviously to tie the footwear to the imprint on his girlfriend's head. I guess they could have used more generic terminology, but they are probably transcribing from a police report.
