Slightly off-topic, so delete/move as appropriate.

Called FIOS today.  Don't want to spend as much as I am.  They literally said the only way to get NESN was to buy the ultimate TV package, which is upwards of $200/month.

Is comcast less shitty?  Do I just cut the service and pirate?  Bruins games shouldn't cost me $200/month.

Even in 2011, the Bruins would not have been worth $200/month.  What's funny is inbetween the original post and this, they've called twice offering five, then TEN dollars off per month, for 6 months.  I think I'm just going to cut out cable altogether and hope they open up NHL center ice to non-blackout.

+1 for this. Last year was my first using hockeystreams and I was impressed. Much better than any other illegal stream I've found.

I guess the question is getting in the door.  I PMed someone a referral link, and they said it just kicked them to the request an invite page. Now perhaps if their invite is linked the referral, they'll receive something, but as of right now, they haven't had success signing up.

I've got a fios triple play thing with nesn for 148 per month including dvrs. I could drop it all the way to Bruins and Internet for ~130 per month. Not great but it's good internet and I like the cable. Ask about packages, they must be upselling you, all you need is NESN. Also, that price is a 2yr contract, unlike Comcast where it goes up after a year.

I cut the cord almost 2 years ago. F paying that much for 400 channels of garbage I hate. The last two seasons I scraped by using atdhe streamed to my chromecast but the quality is so poor I may pony up the $100 for hockey streams.

Edit: fixing auto corrects "fixes"

Yeah.  I ended up cutting the cord.  $191/mo -> $74/mo for 3x as fast internet.  I'm just going to figure out some way to stream things, and then just buy a couple more chromecasts for all the TV's.  I'll be able to buy a cheap surface as a universal remote with my savings in a few months.

Also, is NHL Center Ice doing a free preview this week or anything? I have DirecTV down here and would like to catch the opener tonight without having to scramble for a stream on teh internets.
