If this isn't the ideal recipe for a letdown game, I don't know what is.
Possible locations, according to sources, include Detroit, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. The Lions and Redskins are on the road this weekend; the Steelers have a bye. It's 215 miles from Buffalo to Pittsburgh, 256 miles from Buffalo to Detroit and 389 miles from Buffalo to FedEx Field in Washington.
Syracuse Dome not a possibility? At least some of the crowd would be Bills fans.DrewDawg said:ESPN has source saying the Bills-Jets game won't be played in Buffalo on Sunday: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11909178/buffalo-bills-home-game-new-york-jets-not-likely-played-sunday-according-sources

PFT tweeted that the Carrier Dome was not equipped to handle the technology, wiring, ect. for replay, coach to QB, communication, and injury monitoring.jsinger121 said:Syracuse should seriously be considered for home field purposes even though it seats only 50000.
We should be so lucky.epraz said:If the Jets/Bills game doesn't happen Saturday, does that mean we might get the Pats game in NYC? The Giants are playing Sunday night. CBS has the doubleheader, so it seems like Fox could decide to show the Pats/Lions as the early game, right?
Agreed.jsinger121 said:Syracuse should seriously be considered for home field purposes even though it seats only 50000.

506 Sports has a "TBA" for the CBS early game.
TCF Bank Stadium was brand-new, though, which is probably a factor vs the Carrier Dome. Agree that Toronto makes a lot of sense.dynomite said:Agreed.
Didn't the Vikings play at UM stadium when their roof collapsed because of snow? That worked out fine, not sure why Syracuse couldn't handle this game.
Again, I have no idea what's happening here and why, but Toronto and Syracuse seem like much simpler and more accommodating alternatives than DC.
This whole "Canada is a foreign country" thing continues to annoy in so many ways.mikeford said:Toronto might be a work permit problem or something. I imagine quite a bit goes into holding an event like that in a foreign country.

I thought it was strange too. Some of the comments said it was because there is currently ice set up for hockey this weekend. And there are NY high school football games scheduled for next weekend.ivanvamp said:
They have big-time sports events at the Carrier Dome all the time. There is no way they couldn't make this work for one single NFL game.
Right. I understand it may not be possible from a schedule standpoint. But otherwise......CantKeepmedown said:I thought it was strange too. Well played.Freddy Linn said:I'll be interested if the Raiders feed Latavius Murray. They should.
Or, um, maybe sooner.Couperin47 said:I know how much we want this, don't be sucked in, the Raiders always disappear in the 2nd half.
