It has been about as competent as their second half offense. By my count, after four second half drives they've gotten seven total yards. The Bears were about as non-competitive as you can be in a game on defense from the 2nd quarter on
They beat Zona. These games will be closei am sorry but GB is not the best team in the nfl Zona KC NE and TB are better
I thought the ball on a kickoff was a free ball. Is the rule different for an onside kick?can someone explain to me why you’re not allowed to advance a muffed punt/kick? It’s cost the bears 14 pts tonight
On point number one...first off, that’s a dumb rule. Why can’t you block it that way? They allow you to block passes not only at the LOS but also as the ball is coming down into a player’s hands.Definitely no to one, I think you would get a fifteen yard penalty. I don’t think you can do two, either; they routinely flag for unsportsmanlike conduct any attempt to use another player as leverage when defending against a kick.
The one problem with taking a 15-yard penalty is that it doesn't make field goal attempt shorter. It gives the other team a first down.On point number one...first off, that’s a dumb rule. And second, if the other team is attempting a 60 yard FG with jut seconds to go to win the game against you, and their kick is barely going to make it, swat it away and take the 15 yard penalty and make the guy try again from 45 yards. He probably will still make it, but you’re knocking away a certain make so at least it gives you a chance. That’s well worth the 15 yard penalty.
Which at the end of a game (or half) is meaningless, to @BaseballJones' point. The one problem with taking a 15-yard penalty is that it doesn't make field goal attempt shorter. It gives the other team a first down.
I know. Which is why I made the scenario one of those game-winning with just seconds left kind of kicks. Sure they'd have a first down, but they'd still be around the 30 yard line and would definitely re-kick. You wouldn't do this with two minutes left. It wouldn't come up very often, but in the specific instance I suggest, it's well worth the 15-yard penalty. The one problem with taking a 15-yard penalty is that it doesn't make field goal attempt shorter. It’s all about possession. If a kick returner fully possesses the ball and fumbles, it’s returnable no matter the type of kick. If he touches it and never possesses, it’s a muff and cannot be advanced. Untouched kickoffs past ten yards untouched also cannot be advanced.I thought the ball on a kickoff was a free ball. I also noticed that during the broadcast. I was legit surprised that he didn't mention it, but after thinking about it, my surprise went away.Nantz didn’t mention it was Archie Manning throwing a Pick Six in 77 for the Bucs first win.
The muff rule is one of those head scratchers. I'm sure there is a technical reason, like a muff is never a ball fully possessed or something. But whatever, it's still pretty dumb. It’s all about possession. If a kick returner fully possesses the ball and fumbles, it’s returnable no matter the type of kick. Even if a muff “can’t be advanced” why wouldn’t the play like we saw from the returner in the Buff game be a safety, just like any other touch from the Offense that goes out of the back of the end zone? The muff rule is one of those head scratchers. Hopefully he does this a few times on Thursday night67 yards in the air, on a dime, after rolling away from pressure. Pretty nice ball. That kid is good - except when he plays the Pats.
Jonathan Allen from the WFT also.
If they steered clear of unvaxxed relativesSounds like a great week for the Patriots to have a bye!
Maybe. A lot of them probably traveled increasing their exposure.Sounds like a great week for the Patriots to have a bye!
What does that make the Rams?I had a feeling Zona was overrated. This start reinforces that notion.
How do you like 'em now, Ralphie-boy!Arizona looks ok to me. Rams look shitty.
Really? I like him a lot.Reddick strings together some of the least meaningful crap I have ever heard on an NFL broadcast.
Except that Kupp has a better telephone.Cooper Kupp is like another Rams receiver, Crazylegs Hirsch from seventy years ago.
