Niners lose tomorrow and we have a play-in game on Sunday. Niners win out and Seahawks lose to the Rams next week, then Niners win division and get the bye. Should be interesting.

I think running it with about 25 seconds left is ok there. It's the false start that killed it.

No. Always a rule, since the offense could sacrifice 5 yards for the clock at any point. When the clock is running and the offense commits a penalty, ten seconds run off, unless the team uses a timeout instead. Since the Packers didn't have one, they had to take the runoff.

That play call was fine. They snapped the ball on 2nd and goal from the 1 with :20 left. Everything after that was an abortion.

I was going to say that, in the NFL, there are just certain teams that ever year you KNOW are going to fuck up. It's really kind of incredible. The Lions are one of them, what a mess.

The Patriots' no-huddle offense is somewhat similar to what Chip Kelly has brought to Philly. The method for signaling play calls is different. Eagles have better skill position players, except for Brady, of course.

No doubt this is the wave of the future, until some smart defensive coach finds a way to slow things down.

McNabb never threw interceptions.  He was very, very protective of the ball. One of the criticisms of him during his time in Philly is that he wasn't risky enough.
 
I just looked it up, and he's tied for 4th all time in pass interception percentage at 2.2%.  Brady is 2nd at 2.0%.

And the Rams have been playing very good football of late too.  Their defense is much improved and Zac Stacy is a stud at RB.  The game is no gimme for Seattle.
