He's paid like an average QB, with a lot less guaranteed than his peers.
Still too much, though. Every year with Dalton is a wasted year.

Listening to folks in these game threads is crazy sometimes. There are only about 5 QBs that people seem to think can win a SB. Even though we pretty regularly see the mediocre guys do it.

That's not really true. The last QB of Dalton's caliber to win a SB was Eli Manning in 2007, before that was Dilfer in 2000, before that was Doug Williams in 1988. Dalton has also shown himself to be pretty awful with the spotlight on him. This Bengals team doesn't have the supporting cast to overcome the giant red wart that is Andy Dalton.

No one does. Say what you want about Marvin (and he certainly has his warts), but to make four straight playoffs in a division with Baltimore and Pittsburgh and having a pathetic excuse for a quarterback is damn impressive.

Why did the ref wined(sp?) the clock after that big hit on Bernard? He ended up out of bounds before being down. (just curious)
Seemed wrong to me but I think the argument is about forward progress being stopped in bounds as he hit him backwards.

Manning was really good in 2011 (and this year, incidentally), and Flacco is still better than Dalton. Obviously that run was part of it, but Flacco had also shown he was capable to step it up on the big stage before that run. I guess it depends how much you believe in that kind of thing.

Pittsburgh is done without Bell. They may win next week but won't go far without him.
