I never felt this was a clear 2 player draft with Williams/Maye then a major drop off (as some implied at one point), so this is fine.
No, they were quietly already in trouble because of personnel, but it is funny that they thought he was going galaxy brain up a scheme that would fix it.
I can understand it--the draft is supposed to help you rebuild your entire franchise. A one off H2H doesn't necessarily show who who the better team is.

That being said, the NFL should do a lottery for the bottom 5 teams. Anything to mitigate tanking to some degree.
