I don’t think I’ve ever seen it done that obviously. It’s a game-changing call, but I don’t think you can let that go. Raiders have no one to blame but themselves.
As mentioned above the Niners built a whole defense around it, but rarely called. I think the Pats got popped for a defensive hold on a run this weekend too. I just didn’t get a good look at this one from the birds eye view.

I’ve never seen it on a FG, which seems a particularly dumb time to take that chance with every official watching the same area and you know they hyperfocus on things like that on kicks now.

Did ESPN not show the penalty call on the biggest play of the game? Odd
They did. Defender held his blocker in an effort to create a lane for a teammate. It was near the end of the line and not at all subtle.

Holding on the defensive line, like hands to the face, is a call that’s made more often in the NFL than at lower levels because the officials are good enough to spot it. Unlike hands to the face, defensive holding isn’t a safety rule, so there’s an argument that officials should let it go when it’s not blatant. I thought that one was really obvious and the that the official had little choice but to call it.

Florida
Loved how Adams just raised his hand up for Carr like Randy did to Tom on their first touchdown, just like “I’m here I’ll get it” with such confidence. Awesome.

Pretty dumb. KC would drive down in two minutes and score giving you the ball back anyway. Now they will do that but take clock when they can and don’t even need their shaky kicker to win it.

The reality is with a gassed defense your best chance was probably a missed kick or something of that nature. So why the fuck do you give them the option of just getting first downs at will and milking clock? Analytics don’t know game context.
