If the Pats want to have any kind of a season, they need to win this one. I tend to think they will but the Vegas spread (Pats -1) correctly reflects that it's a bit of a toss up.

Go Pats.

Don't suck.

Either can beat the Patriots. They have better skill positions across the board than the Patriots.

A large part of me thinks that this team is a hopeless cause for this season.

However, I can't help but acknowledge that nagging feeling that this organization has this habit of coming out brilliantly when things are at there bleakest. Week 3 in 2001 after Bledsoe got hurt, week 5 in 2014 the "We're on our way to Cincinatti" game, and many other times they have played like whaleshit only to follow those games up with a win.

Now, I know the major difference is the guy taking snaps now, but still, I can't shake that nagging feeling like I'll totally write this team off, and then at about 3pm I'll notice the score is 28-6 Patriots.

I'm probably just delusional, but a guy can dream.

20-10 Pats with a defensive TD thrown in. I feel they'll play super conservative on offense and both teams will struggle to move the ball. Turnover avoidance will be the name of that game for New England and the defense pulls through once again.

We’re at the point where they might be better off long term with a loss, so I will be watching ambivalently.

Bounce back game from Mac which will render things less dire than they appeared last week, yet not quite “promising.” Overall a win that feels like a loss because it puts us on track for a middling draft pick.

Don't like deferring for this team specifically. They suck playing from behind. Even though I don't expect the Saints to score a TD here, I wouldn't give them the opportunity. For a projected low scoring game, take the ball.

Looks like a lot of people quit after last week. This is the most dead a Pats gamethread has been at kickoff since SoSH was born, maybe.

Agreed. Understandably so.
I don't agree, personally. This team/coach/ownership gave us the best 20 years we'll ever have in any sport. I'll gladly watch these guys suck the next 10 years if it happens.

Long weekend, perfect New England fall weather, bad team = much better things to do. If I didn't stupidly fracture my foot I sure as hell would have found something else to do
