so did the booth, because they were showing a replay and cut to the spike at the last possible second. it was confusing. but i think it turned out about right.I guess I missed the spike play.

But if there was a spike, there can't then also be a review. It's either a spike and the previous play can't be reviewed, or no spike, the play can be reviewed but there should be a runoff. Obviously there is another rule or factor in play in this case that I'm missing.so did the booth, because they were showing a replay and cut to the spike at the last possible second. it was confusing. but i think it turned out about right.
The spike didn't count as an official play because - at least in theory - the play was stopped by the officials prior to Wilson snapping it.But if there was a spike, there can't then also be a review. Thanks, that was helpful. And yeah they need to tweak the runoff rule because that is seemingly a pretty significant loophole. With respect to the runoff rule, this is the key language from the rulebook:
1970s and all that jazzTwo iconic franchises? Oakland: OK. If Miami is iconic, then maybe the Jets are too. Buffalo was in four Super Bowls. Them too?
Yeah, but that’s getting to be a long time ago. Iconic forever!1970s and all that jazz
Bills never won anythingTwo iconic franchises? Oakland: OK. If Miami is iconic, then maybe the Jets are too. Buffalo was in four Super Bowls. Them too?
Joe Willie will slap you.Jets and Bills never won anything
You recognized it, playboy.Did NBC just use Dashboard Confessional for the bump music?
They were supposed to give New England a run for their money as much as any team.Oakland is dogshit.
GarbageThis is fucking unwatchable. Holy shit.
3 of the next 5 Pats opponents on the field, but that’s all I got. This is fucking unwatchable. Holy shit.
Can they flex this early in the season? I don't think they can.How did this steaming pile of shit matchup not get flexed?
Can anyone buy Tomlin not being outsmarted by the Pats coaching staff? Plus playoff Andy Reid is a sad story. The NFL as a whole is pretty terrible this year, from the Pats-down.
This is feeling like an Eagles/Pats or possibly even a Rams/Pats Super Bowl, either of which would be incredibly interesting, but from a quality of play standpoint probably one of the poorer Super Bowls in a long time. At least when Seattle throttled Denver they were truly dominant.
Pittsburgh may sneak past the Pats, or KC, but both of them feel completely beatable if the Patriots' improvements on defense are real and they're even league-average from here on out.
I've been wondering about his health too. It wouldn't be surprising if he's playing well below 100%. That is a nasty injury he came back from this year and then suffered that back injury on top of it.When did Carr become a JAG? Is he still hurt?
It would be interesting. But you are not suggesting the Pats would “throttle” the Eagles, are you? In all our SB wins, the Pats have never “throttled” any opponent. The NFL as a whole is pretty terrible this year, from the Pats-down.

Coach Gase read them the riot act, though (play better or get out of town). I just wonder how often you can do that.Miami is bigger (smellier?) dogshit
If that was Gronk, that last one would have been called. Two pick plays in a row.
In line with the “making it fair” policy in sports, next year they’re going to make Mike Trout hit with a donut on his bat.If that was Gronk, that last one would have been called.
