Regardless of whatever actually happened (and even if everything coming out is exactly true), I really hate when stuff starts leaking out like this. The place the case should be made is in court, when/if Kane is tried.

Why?AMcGhie said:As an example, leaks came out in the Brady case. Some were wrong. Neither side talked about the leaks. It helped turn public opinion against him. If the facts of the case are reported, I'm ok with that, because its the legal case in court. I hate that unaccountable, "anonymous" sources can leak stuff that might not be true. People should lose status/be punished based on what can be proven in court, not what is rumored by anonymous people through the media.

Agreed 100%. What is possibly to be gained by having him on the ice right now?

Ripping it open and leaving at the doorstep could easily be the work of a psycho fan who happens to work in Chicago PD as opposed to some kind of institutional cover-up/bribery situation, the latter being a conclusion I'm sure many will jump to before the facts are out. What a mess.

Probably the same reason he got away with the stat rape thing in Chicago. He's good at scoring goals.

Buffalo PD, but yeah...
From Kane's perspective, yeah, but for the Buffalo PD's image being so negligent with the evidence as to allow this is pretty much the same as if Kane or an associate had bribed someone.Jed Zeppelin said:Not even sure what to make of that until it's known who did it or at least who had access to it. Can the NHL actually do anything though since he hasn't been formally charged? This seems to be more on the Blackhawks than the league. Voynov, to use a similar example, was arrested and charged so the NHL could easily suspend him but I'm not sure if they can do that yet with Kane.soxhop411 said:“@reporterchris: NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly says Patrick Kane’s playing status remains unchanged. He’s still in camp with the #blackhawks.”
GJGE nhl.
"Kane’s DNA was found beneath the woman’s fingernails and on her shoulders, according to two of the sources, one of them a member of law enforcement," the report added. It's unclear how exactly these developments will affect the investigation or decision of whether Kane gets charged.
The case is expected to go to a grand jury starting later this month. Kane has denied the allegations.
When sources who discussed the DNA evidence were asked about the presence of Kane’s DNA on the woman’s shoulders and under her fingernails, three of the sources told The News that could have come from casual contact.
That could be true, but the DNA found under her nails could also indicate there was some kind of struggle, [former Erie County DA Frank J.] Clark said.
Yes. It is in the CBA that they can suspend based off of an investigation. Charges don't have to be filed.kenneycb said:Can the NHL actually do anything though since he hasn't been formally charged? Where is Rovin Romine when you need him?
