The NFL fucking sucks. WR takes two full steps and gets hit shoulder to shoulder. Penalty

Defenseless receiver? Really? I'm all about player safety but I don't know about that call. That's a legal hit. Brutal, yes, but legal.

No longer a receiver after taking 3 steps, lowers head and braces himself, shoulder takes contact as DB went lower.

Bad, bad call.

no way. KC is the best AFC team playing this weekend. even without Maclin they have the best chance of these teams to beat DEN in DEN. if CIN wins you increase your odds of not having to go to DEN for AFCCG, and you get an easier opponent next week.
Not sure I agree KC has a much better chance than Pitt against Denver and I don't know that KC is better than Cincy with Dalton. These Cincy injuries are piling up, though.

I agree, but you can't do those kinds of hits anymore.
Right; you can't lead with your helmet, can't hit helmet to helmet, can't hit a player high, can't leave your feet, can't hit shoulder to shoulder.

You CAN hit him here, above the waist below the shoulder, not in the middle of the body, not too far to the right, right here, this two inch square area.

THAT is a legal hit.

Refs are told to call a penalty if a hit looks bad. They are graded down for missing illegal hits but not for erring on the side of caution. Hit that looks yucky is a de facto penalty.

Once again a team does jack shit offensively for a half and finds itself with a very manageable deficit. Let's see if Cincy gets their shit together.
Give McCarron a stiff shot of whatever the Red Sox used in the 2004 ALCS. He looks as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

So the NFC is going win the SB right? None of these teams today are any good at all, the Broncos aren't much better and the Pats are too injured.

I don't think any of these teams' offenses will consistently move the ball in DEN, including PIT. The team that has the ability to create turnovers and completely stifle the DEN offense has a chance... I think that's KC.

KC is more well balanced but honestly these AFC teams are shit. How can we be intimidated by a KC team that beat up on a bunch of lousy teams to rack up their win streak. If we can't beat them we'd get rolled in the superbowl anyway. TB is not Hoyer.
Whatever happens happens.

NFC has plenty of flawed teams too. No clear favorites this year. Should be a pretty entertaining, wide open playoffs.

Certainly seems like Carolina, Arizona or Seattle should be the favorite over any of these teams in a neutral venue. This year has really taught us though that you just cannot draw conclusions about teams based on how they looked the week before -- good or bad.

Why don't we see what team the Pats actually field next week.

Bengal receivers have no chance right now. No respect being paid to McCarron
