I want to premise this post by saying I hate the Ravens. John Harbaugh has won one playoff game since 2014. The fact that he and that organization get so much love from the national media is bewildering to me. They have had a million comp picks and besides Lamar and Andrews, do they have any other blue-chip players?
Mel Kiper gives them an A for their draft every year! Just kidding. I think they lost something when Newsome left. They really should have locked up Lamar on a new contract early on to get more of his prime years. Some team, like Sea or Tenn, will probably over pay for him in some kind of tag and trade though and we can hear about how smart they are again all off-season.

Justin Tucker for sure. It pains me to admit it, but game on the line, I'd rather have him kicking it than Vinatieri (in their respective primes)-- if only because I'd be just as confident from 55yds as I would be from 35yds.
No way.

Tucker is awesome, obviously, but Adam hit all the important kicks. Give me the guy with multiple game winning Super Bowl kicks any day.

Vinatieri missed two in the SB win over Carolina - two kicks that easily could have cost them the game. (one was blocked, but still, a miss) Those were pretty important kicks.

Tucker is 15 for 19 in his career in the playoffs. (78%) Adam is 56 for 69,(81%) so obviously a billion more kicked field goals AND a higher hit percentage on the field goals, too.

It's not like Tucker is perfect.

Totally agree. I was just pointing out that Vinatieri did not make all the important kicks. He had his share of misses as well. We just remember the big ones he made. (which were ENORMOUS)

He missed those kicks because of the emergency long snapper who could not get off a good snap to save his life that game.

There was a story about this I feel like recently that was a good read.

Edit: Found it

I hate the Ravens more than anyone hates anything, but it's not like Tucker has any big playoff misses either and two of his four were in a crazy wind game in Buffalo. He also has multiple game-winners from 60+ in the regular season. The Tuck Rule kick will probably forever be the best kick in NFL history, but Tucker is the best kicker by far and still the one I'd want for all the marbles.

I just re-watched his kicks. The first miss (at 8:10 of the video above), the snap wasn't perfect, but was easily handled by Walter, the holder, who got it down perfectly and in easy time for Vinatieri, who just pushed a 31-yarder to the right. Totally on AV.

Second miss (40:39 of the video above), the snap was very good. Easily handled by Walter, perfect hold and place, and Vinatieri just didn't get any elevation on the kick. Nothing wrong with either snap or either hold. Both totally on AV. (and the blocking wasn't good either)

I mean, I heard the same story you did, but you can watch the kicks right there in the video above.

Agreed, The Tuck Rule Kick is forever the best kick in NFL history. Every time I watch it, I still can't believe it was good, just money and nails.

Belichick should have 100% resigned him, if he had, they win the Scottish Game for sure.

Regarding Lamar - some of his continuing hype probably is due to the prevalence of fantasy, which favors QBs who can rush/score rushing TDs.

Maybe Ozzie, his successor and Harbaugh all worried that Jackson will not be anybody's long-term answer so they waited out the contract. His GP have gone 15, 15, 12, 12.

This will be my first non Pats NFL game of the year. Excited to (hopefully) see TB12 start a post season run to get number 8.

Don't think I am alone in hoping to see TB lose big.

He had a choice: go for personal glory & $$; or stick with the Patriots. Sure it is individually rational to go to Tampa Bay, but why should I (as a Pats fan) cheer this decision?
And I see no shame in indulging in such grievances as a sports fan!

But damn rooting for Dallas is something I NEVER do.

wow Daly Cruz and Hogan. Bunch of people who I wish I didn't know anything about after 1995 or so.
