Game went over 3 hours, which is good. Fans in the rotisserie sections are fully cooked. No salmonella.

Rudolph seems to be looking for the 5-yard patterns on every play. He's not going to score 14 points that way in two minutes.

Not what I said at all.

Don’t dive into the ground to stop a QB. If he’s on the ground he doesn’t need to be dived at.

He was midair diving into the turf to hit a QB. That’s always a flag.
You have no concept of the speed of the game - it’s not like the slow mow replay - it’s a half a second decision

Oh OK. I have no concept. Thanks for your perspective, Mr, Bruschi.

Here’s a concept… don’t dive at the ground to make a QB tackle. Period.

Imagine having Pittsburgh and the points (10) and Rudolph decides to scramble for a "key" first down to run out the clock.....

Well it’s either go middle up or accept the penalty when he slides. Make a choice.
That’s why i think the rule is bad

Jack did nothing dirty…he clearly tried not to finish the hit and even sort of spread his arms out

I just think they’ve made it way too difficult on the tacklers. All the time you see qbs, especially mahomes, get extra yards bc you can tell guys are scared to commit to the hit

Yeah, a RB or whatever could do the same slide and be ruled down correct? Or is it just QBs that can give themselves up with a slide?
Anybody can and get the same protection BY RULE. Obviously in real life a QB will be treated differently because the owners want them to be

It is definitely challenging to be a defender. You can't hit too high. They're talking about eliminating the knee shots. That leaves a very small window, and you can't use your helmet to tackle either. And if the runner dips, though you were aiming at his midsection, now you could be aiming at his head. And if they slide you have to back off, but that leaves you exposed to a fake slide (or fake out of bounds like Mahomes does).

And yet...defenses are holding offenses to fewer points per game than they have in like 10 years. Amazing.

I agree with you about the rule. 100%.

But given the rule, that was a penalty. It stinks.

Yeah it’s wild

seems like the cba has really reduced the quality of o line play…or maybe it’s all the rpo in college. League needs to figure that out bc it’s a problem
