It was thrown out when Pete Gray made it to the majors.

Scoring a run with out recording a hit is up there on the list and according to Tom, the Giants have 18 of those this postseason.Al Zarilla said:Can you compile a list, in descending order, of annoying ways to score runs? Maybe make it a thread.

They do have a knack. The inning last night that did Vogelsong in was pretty annoying for Giants fans too.rembrat said:Scoring a run with out recording a hit is up there on the list and according to Tom, the Giants have 18 of those this postseason.

Yeah, the cat's out of the bag now on this one. Not sure how many fans knew about his fielding, finalist for gold glove notwithstanding.soxhop411 said:Panda is a really good fielder
Will cost too much. I would be fine with him on the sox if the price is right.SemperFidelisSox said:I don't follow the Giants thst well. Why are they letting Panda walk?

Good question. Must be that his weight issues and lack of plate discipline bother them from April- August.SemperFidelisSox said:I don't follow the Giants thst well. Why are they letting Panda walk?

This Spring some word came out, supposedly from him or his agent, that he wanted 5/100. I haven't heard any words whatsoever from Giants management about the situation. People that follow the team have said that's too much though.SemperFidelisSox said:I don't follow the Giants thst well. Why are they letting Panda walk?

Makes sense, this way if it's lost when he hits the ground or otherwise gets knocked loose, it's not a catch.

The twist was what I mentioned upthread: the fielder who caught the ball was out cold. The baerunners were "tagging up" when his teammate came over, took the ball out of his glove to throw it in. It was ruled not a catch since the release was not intentional, though the ball never hit the ground.
