Leverkusen did it again last night, with a 97th minute goal (from Unioner Robert Andrich, of course :) ) to keep the lossless streak going at 46.

With the top spot set in the Bundesliga, there is a nasty battle going on at the bottom. Darmstadt is officially down as of today, but Köln saved their season with a last-minute penalty against Mainz. That also saved my team from dropping into a virtual tie for the relegation playoff (I was in a far more celebratory mood that I would have expected before the season for a week 31 draw between Mainz and Köln, but here we are).

Union Berlin face Bochum at home next week, then go to Köln on the 11th, before the ending at home in a tough match with Freiburg.

I should add Bochum’s remaining matches are FCU, Leverkusen and Werder Bremen.

I think both Köln and Mainz have the tougher schedules ahead (Freiburg, FCU, Heidenheim & Heidenheim, BVB and Wolfsburg, respectively). A win on Sunday against Köln means the worst they can do is the playoff, and I think 4 points probably gets them through to next year….but still squeakiest bum I’ve had since Palace in 2017, when Big Sam let loose on Hull City to save the season.

Going to be a big Heidenheim fan for the next few weeks :)

“Respect the point”.
