Based on the agent's last statement, I guess I should have compared him to Titus Young, not Charles Rogers.Charles Rodgers was a bust, but he certainly seemed to have the talent.
Manziel was Eric Crouch lite. He was never going to be a good NFL QB.
That's the downside of soxhop's drive-by twittering without context:They? You're his dad, dude. It's on you, too.
Totally agree. I called bullshit in my first post about this. My main goal was to point out more of Johnny's stupidity.I think, though, that given the following:
1) Manziel's cluelessly arrogant, "what, me worry?" attitude of entitlement; and
2) Your point that teams would be foolish to contact another player under contract to another team
2a) ...ESPECIALLY a player as dubious as Manziel...
2b) ...I mean, seriously. Why would any team do that?
We can assume that Manziel or his agent are completely full of shit, and either Manziel is just deluded, or his agent is a fucking idiot and trying to pre-emptively kickstart what is sure to be a lukewarm, at best, market for his client. I'm going with the former, if only because Manziel seems stupid enough to be acting completely against any advice from his agent, who would surely realize what you do: that his client is only raising more questions about himself by basically accusing the very teams he wants to end up with of tampering.
Well, here's their official statement on the matter. I'll save you the suspense and just say "Football player, durrrrr....Lil' woman....durrrrrrr....football."I am absolutely shocked he has not been criminally charged. Have the authorities given a reason as to why?
Dallas Police said in a statement later Thursday that "appropriate investigative follow-up" had been done and the case was closed:
The Dallas Police Department has conducted the appropriate investigative follow-up to the report forwarded to us by the Ft. Worth Police Department regarding an alleged incident involving Johnny Manziel. Investigative efforts to date have not resulted in the filing of a criminal complaint and the incident is determined to be closed. No further statement is expected at this time.
Absent somebody pretty obviously beaten up, it's really hard to bring these charges with a reluctant victim. Which she reportedly was. She was more concerned with him offing himself than anything else, which reportedly is why the police put a helicopter up to find him.I am absolutely shocked he has not been criminally charged. Have the authorities given a reason as to why?
That's the downside of soxhop's drive-by twittering without context:
Manziel's father, Paul, told the newspaper that the Cleveland Brownsquarterback has refused to enter area rehab facilities twice in the past week. He said the family tried to get Manziel, 23, to enter a local addiction facility on Saturday, but Manziel refused to stay. Paul Manziel said he tried to have his son admitted to a psychiatric and chemical dependency hospital on Tuesday, but Manziel was allowed to leave, despite his father telling officers that he believed Manziel was suicidal.

Well, y'all won't understand this, but he's a great football player and this here's Texas . . .I am absolutely shocked he has not been criminally charged. Have the authorities given a reason as to why?
Is the other 40-50% that he makes it to 2017 and/or beyond, or that 2015 was his last year? What are the chances of 2016 being the last year of Manziel's career? 50%? 60%?
After the agent/dad news, I'm hedging towards the latter. Is the other 40-50% that he makes it to 2017 and/or beyond, or that 2015 was his last year?
Given NFL precedent, this feels like 2 games to mewelp..
His football career is over

Sources say Johnny Manziel's ex, Colleen Crowley has given a statement to the Dallas Police department and wants DA to file charges
FTFYWhat are the chances of 2016 being the last year of Manziel's life? 50%? 60%?
what do you mean get him off the street? Worst case scenario, the police investigate and decide to arrest Manziel. He gets booked, arraigned and with no conviction history gets bail set at what, $5,000? He'll spend less than 12 hours in jail."They" is the police. Family (and former agent, apparently) attempted an intervention (or two) and it didn't work. Manziel was brought in by cops and evaluated, but walked out without charges. I believe the idea of the "new" investigation is not only to assess whether more formal charges should be filed, but also it could be another crack at bringing him into some form of custody to get him off the street.
I agree with JERiHOF.
This was actually reported during the last week of the season after he surfaced in Vegas in disguise. I find it (at least a little) curious that it has come back around. I thought it was public knowledge by now that he turned up to practice drunk and the Browns ascribed his report listing as a "head injury" that was being evaluated consistent with the concussion protocol. Getting cute with the process.Johnny showed up drunk to practice so the Browns lied about it and said he was in concussion protocol.
Can only imagine the firestorm if the Pats did this. LINK: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25478521/report-johnny-manziel-came-to-practice-drunk-browns-covered-it-up
Lot of Christians in the NFL nowadays, not sure how many Thracians or Gauls, though. And also put tigers on the field, chained up every 20 yards.
We could even flood the stadiums and stage naval battles.
Which one?
No one happier about any of this past few days than this asshole!
What's the big deal? It's not like he maybe knew about some missing air in a football.Given NFL precedent, this feels like 2 games to me
I mean, these days, just about every third post in every thread is someone making a joke and three posters going back and forth for 1/2 a page. And then the cycle repeats itself.
Please...please...please. Can we stop the fucking Deflategate references? It's not original and it was never funny.
I pointed this out before the fucking season started.I mean, these days, just about every third post in every thread is someone making a joke and three posters going back and forth for 1/2 a page. And then the cycle repeats itself.
But Manziel is a great marketing opportunity. But Hardy is a great player. Manziel sucks.
Maybe I'm being dense, and I know you're the marketing guy, but how does signing an alcoholic domestic abuser create marketing opportunities? But Manziel is a great marketing opportunity.
