But embrace the suck and rise up and all that shit! The idea that this shitty Falcons team has a legit shot at the SB really irks me

FWIW, the Eagles have fumbled four times and recovered two - and the most important of those fumbles led to a six-point swing (should have been seven) in the Eagles' favor. So I think luck is pretty even so far, or perhaps slightly favoring Philly.Falcons are filled to the tits with luck.
We all saw the same replay. Kliq has it covered above. There was

I think wind conditions are worse than they look out there, and playing into the wind is much more difficult than usual.FWIW, the Eagles have fumbled four times and recovered two - and the most important of those fumbles led to a six-point swing (should have been seven) in the Eagles' favor. I don't know if the NFL has data, but I am skeptical whether ripping apart crews that have worked together for 17 weeks really is a good idea. Baseball is different, because ump responsibilities are all so well set. But if you have a white hat who is liberal about letting holding go but a backfield guy who calls every touch illegal contact (just as an example) it changes things. It all inter-relates, or at least some of it does.Hogwash. What a terrible call. These refs need a LOT of work.
Sorry was gone for a while. Why? For the entire week?
He’s not doing what Gostkowski does intentionally (sky it to near the goal line)? With the wind today, probably can’t tell.Bosher's kickoff distance has gotten shorter and shorter as the season has gone along.
No, he isn't - Falcons coverage team is nowhere near good enough to make that work. He’s not doing what Gostkowski does intentionally (sky it to near the goal line)? With the wind today, probably can’t tell.
That was really awesome. Commercials.Fucking commercial 8 seconds before the two minute warning. For fuck's sake -- this isn't the Super Bowl.
Lord knows how they’ll respond to declining viewer numbers going forward...Fucking commercial 8 seconds before the two minute warning. For fuck's sake -- this isn't the Super Bowl.
I like the cut of your jib.I think I'm coming around to the idea that the NFL should just end violent collisions on attempted receptions, full stop. It's mostly impossible for refs to judge in real time whether someone was really hit in the head or just hit really hard. And it's exceedingly difficult, bordering on impossible, for defenders to properly target so they hit shoulder and not head.
That probably takes some of the fun out of the league for many fans, but the game needs to evolve. Give defenders some other ways to contest balls and contest routes, and remove the "hit 'em so hard they don't have the wherewithal to complete the catch" part of the game altogether.
Are you willing to rename the Lombardi Trophy after Gronk?I think I'm coming around to the idea that the NFL should just end violent collisions on attempted receptions, full stop. I think the point is that you'd have to allow defensive holding of some sort between the numbers, or give the defense some other sort of compensatory advantage. Are you willing to rename the Lombardi Trophy after Gronk?
That cost them about 20 seconds of clock.Took them too long.
So create a problem by solving another one? That would be impossible to enact and officiate.I think the point is that you'd have to allow defensive holding of some sort between the numbers, or give the defense some other sort of compensatory advantage.
Yeah, but having the time out might save them 20 second if they get tackled in bounds so probably six of one half dozen of another. Plus, you can't be sure Atlanta won't convert and then you saved them time. That was actually not obvious either way for me.That cost them about 20 seconds of clock.
