Not the first time, won't be the last...NY Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers were used and abused
It's easy to see how the NYJs could be rejected out of hand.NY Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers were used and abused
I'll believe that the JimmyG saga is over Week 1 at 1PMFantastic. Now all that's really left is to resolve the Butler situation, and that's one of the few that has no real potential to have a huge downside.
Super Bowls Hero. Bowls.Ides of March my ass. Welcome back, SB Hero.
"These cupcakes are terrible! Screw you guys, I'm going home."My favorite part of this entire ordeal was him getting free cupcakes from the piece of shit Jets.
His mom got a ton of Jets gear. She has a lot of car rags now."These cupcakes are terrible! Screw you guys, I'm going home."
Yup and Hightower plays big in big games. Not sure you can say the same for Collins. So, we got Hightower for 7M less guaranteed than the Browns gave Collins.
Outstanding.
Or 30, probably. Initial numbers look like it's probably a 2-year deal with 2 team options in the 10 mil range in 2019 and 2020. Can't ask for better than that.Wow what a great deal. Ends when he's 31.
What's the updated cap situation?
I can't believe this. Granted, Cleveland probably needs to over pay keep Collins, but I still can't believe it. Outstanding offseason. So crazy that he got so much less than Collins and Jones and is the better player
This is very well done.Ambassadors, they bring me cupcakes
Sideline trippers ask me not to go
None were level on my mind
No reason not to say no
Hey
Hey
I think one does have to note that it works if you are a perpetual Super Bowl contender---I don't think it's quite the same if you are a undesireable location/situation for the player.Once again I think the Pats have proven that their approach to free agency is spot on. Never any need to use the franchise tag.
Better than expected, we got a new Jets meme out of it.That played out about as well as possible.
You're doing the Lord's work here....No reason to get excited
The linebacker kindly spoke
There are many here among us
Who feel the Jets are but a joke
His Mom in an alternate universe can wear them. We'll never see it in this one.His mom got a ton of Jets gear. She has a lot of car rags now.
That may be true, but that's only if the Pats feel like getting rid of him for picks. It isn't a situation that actually requires any action at all on their part between now and the season.I'll believe that the JimmyG saga is over Week 1 at 1PM
I still feel he will change teams...
Thank you!!!Ok, now it's official:

Dont'a Hightower is returning to the New England Patriots, sources tell ESPN. New England's off-season rolls on.

Prefers this kind of cupcake"These cupcakes are terrible! Screw you guys, I'm going home."
BB can use me any way and anytime he wants, especially if it lands Dont'a at $45M over 4 yrs with half guaranteed. They know BB doesn't use InstaFace, of course.
Yep.Apparently the Jets sang happy birthday, bought him cupcakes, and sent Jets gear to his mom... so it's probably in the bag

This is going to be pretty funny when he ends up back in NE.
And if he somehow does end up on the Jets, it's going to be LOL Jets all over again. But hey, congrats again on Revis
This.Very happy Hightower is coming back, now go sort out a Malcolm extension.

Once again I think the Pats have proven that their approach to free agency is spot on. Never any need to use the franchise tag.
The latter is true, but given, among other things, the Pats perennial contender status, its as though they have reached some sort of self-sustaining process that no other team has. Super Bowl champs, perennial contender, salary cap comfort, not a lot of dead money on the horizon, not an old team, no franchise-tagging antagonism, allow a star player to find out about his own market. Guys might get hurt or just suck, but from a front-office, roster-building, paper and off season approach (the things they can control), the team is nearly untethered from the conventional wisdom of the NFL.I think one does have to note that it works if you are a perpetual Super Bowl contender---I don't think it's quite the same if you are a undesireable location/situation for the player.
The Patriots seem to know what the market is for these players better than most teams.Once again I think the Pats have proven that their approach to free agency is spot on. Never any need to use the franchise tag.
Dont'a is cultured. He preferred the Patisserie. My favorite part of this entire ordeal was him getting free cupcakes from the piece of shit Jets.
Went as BB expected, too. Which is probably part of the reason Jones and Collins found the exit.Michael GiardiVerified account @MikeGiardi 31s31 seconds ago
Source close to Hightower says free agent "process didn't go exactly as planned" but 54 is "satisfied" with end result.
Ironically, from the fan and team perspective, the process seemed to go pretty much exactly as planned, including LOL Jets.
