You really think they're trading #3 for a huge gamble on PG?I'm sticking to what I've said all week that we weren't drafting at 3 to keep the player. It sure sounds like some things are about to go down or fall through. One GM angle is that Pritchard knows Ainge has to speak about the player and is holding out.....knowing that this doesn't HAVE to get done tonight. Game of cat and mouse.....I say it gets done maybe not tonight though. It could be held up waiting to see if Ainge's guy is there at 18 too.

Ah, gotcha. Danny isn't done looking for a chess gameI'm not speculating that Tatum is involved. Just that Ainge hasn't had a press conference yet. It would have usually happened by now.
I meant his Best Available list...every BAP that was #1 on his list has been picked...I think Tatum was #5 thoughHe has better sources than I have.
Same way this board reacted, just took 10 minutes instead of an hour.Wilbon when the Butler trade was announced: "Good haul for Chicago."
Now, an hour later, "the Bulls got fleeced."
Right. What is he doing there, anyway? The layoffs were so deep they have to get a guy who hasn't covered basketball in forever on the set?Wilbon when the Butler trade was announced: "Good haul for Chicago."
Now, an hour later, "the Bulls got fleeced."
Everybody knew, well except for the moron who fell for it. Not naming names.Did you guys know that Woj account from 20 minutes or so ago was fake?
And those ball caps the draftees are wearing are fucking hideous.
He said the reaction in Chicago is "we got fleeced"Wilbon when the Butler trade was announced: "Good haul for Chicago."

Greenwich Country Day where he was a student for 12 years. I taught him American history in 8th, and he was my best baseball player in grades 8 and 9. A GREAT kid.Mitchell with a bit of a shoutout to @jacklamabe65 (Brewster Academy).
Isn't he a regular on the ESPN/ABC basketball pregame?Right. What is he doing there, anyway? The layoffs were so deep they have to get a guy who hasn't covered basketball in forever on the set?

Yes. Been doing it for several yearsIsn't he a regular on the ESPN/ABC basketball pregame?
And he agreed! He said the reaction in Chicago is "we got fleeced"
Stephen Glass has better sources than you doHe has better sources than I have.
Happy for your own sake that I mixed your school up with the HS.Greenwich Country Day where he was a student for 12 years. I taught him American history in 8th, and he was my best baseball player in grades 8 and 9. A GREAT kid.
Yeah I mean, it's mildly surprising they didn't have SAS on in some capacity. He's not a bball head but he is calm and a fan. I think he's fine. He sort of gets to play the role of fan asking the experts and again, he's doing a fine job.
I think the player at 18 matters a lot to Ainge. I feel he has someone he is targeting there and there are other pieces to a deal to be negotiated. Maybe it's the 3 or maybe he's holding out to give up less......I'd be shocked if Tatum wasn't involved in these discussions though or else the Celtics would be welcoming him.You really think they're trading #3 for a huge gamble on PG?
He's turned into a crotchety old get off my lawn guy. Kornheiser has made fun of him on various podcasts for it. Anything stats related he hates. You guys are much bigger fans of Wilbon---I liked him as a columnist but I feel he started mailing it in a decade ago preparation-wise.

Wow what a surprise. Danny hasn't traded for a big name player in 10 years. IT doesn't count.Adrian WojnarowskiVerified account @WojVerticalNBA 1m1 minute ago
Sources: For now, Boston-Indiana talks on Paul George have stalled.
It's the Biggest Hair in 45 years. This draft is all about hair and jacket linings
In fairness, IT's name was Tiny before Ainge traded for him.Wow what a surprise. Danny hasn't traded for a big name player in 10 years. IT doesn't count.
Who has he missed out on? Boogie, who he didn't want?Wow what a surprise. Danny hasn't traded for a big name player in 10 years. IT doesn't count.
I was about to say "But kevin garnett! but then i realized that was ten years ago.... shitWow what a surprise. Danny hasn't traded for a big name player in 10 years. IT doesn't count.
And yet, his team won 53 games last year and made ECF while accumulating assets...Wow what a surprise. Danny hasn't traded for a big name player in 10 years. IT doesn't count.
Bingo. JFCIn fairness, IT's name was Tiny before Ainge traded for him.
Agreed-Penn's description basically said "they need new management"The old Bulls roster? That lasted one year. So the new Bulls direction is... tanking?
No one really unless anyone wants to count Butler. That's not the point, just not surprised that talks stalled. They always do with Ainge.Who has he missed out on? Boogie, who he didn't want?
TBH I know they are an easy target and have done some really dumb stuff, but I think the Kings have done an okay job acquiring young talent last year or so.
Tonight isn't like the mid-season trade deadline. This is posturing and tomorrow is another day. Of course they could simply cut it off but my point was that a deal doesn't HAVE to get done by the end of the night.Adrian WojnarowskiVerified account @WojVerticalNBA 1m1 minute ago

This is how any mid-draft trade works - see: all the picks wearing the wrong hats. Can someone explain the trade logistics here? Why are the Bulls basically picking for Minnesota? Is there a reason the pick wasn't traded?
Won't George be looking for a similar 2+1 deal or whatever it is that Haywode is looking for this year? So he can then again hit the open market as a 10 year vet? I don't think the money is all that differentI also think you are underrating George and the amount of money he'd be leaving on the table to jump ship next summer.
