For those in the NYC television area:

5 national night games (weeks 1, 5, 7, 10, 14), 2 likely national late-afternoon games (weeks 11, 15) and 2 NYC games (weeks 6, 17). 9 of 16 games are definite for those in NYC, without Red Zone.

Also have a chance at week 2 (NO). No chance at weeks 3, 4, 8, 12, 13, 16.

5/6 on the road immediately after the bye is absurd. home games end up spaced out as the following: 10/29, 11/26, 12/24

The only good thing really is that the bye is again on week 9

They will probably start about 7-1. I think they'll weather the rest just fine.

Philadelphia, New England, Atlanta, Minnesota, Cincinnati, Denver and San Francisco are teams with three-game "road trips."

Interesting tidbit (thanks to j-man) about the Patriots coming off the bye:

Denver goes into that game, coming off a three-game road trip that sends them to West coast, Midwest and East coast

7 Oct 22 at Los Angeles Chargers 2:25 PM CBS
8 Oct 30 at Kansas City Cheifs (MNF) 6:30 PM ESPN
9 Nov 5 at Philadelphia Eagles 11:00 AM CBS
10 Nov 12 vs. New England Patriots (SNF) 6:25 PM NBC

@ PIT coming off Monday night divisional game as the 3rd of 3 road games is one of the more ridiculous scheduling quirks I can recall. Winning 3 in a row on the road is tough enough, winning the 3rd on a short week is BS.

Rooney's parting gift. Still won't matter. 34-23 Pats.

The Raiders fly into that Mexico home game after a game in Miami (elevation 5.9')

The five out of six road games thing does suck.

But having to play in TB on a Thursday night when TB is coming off a home game the prior Sunday (against the Giants) also blows. I remember last year thinking the Pats had a huge advantage in that they were home on their Thursday night game and the opposition was giving up a huge chunk of one of their few preparation days to travel.

That the Pats may be able to play the Mexico game after having the chance to adjust to the higher altitude somewhat does soften the blow.

So does starting the season with three out of four at home and finishing it with two straight at home. And I can't imagine that the Bills will be entirely unaffected by having to play a road game on XMas Eve.

The saving grace about Tampa is that at least it is a night game instead of a day game. I had figured it would be a brutal week 2 or 3 day game.

Tough part of the schedule gonna be a little less daunting given the 8-0 record heading into it
Pretty much, and there are lots of fans in several places complaining about the schedule this morning.

There's no chance they're on in Week 2. FOX has the doubleheader so the Jets are the lone CBS game.

For those in the NYC area, here's my (likely worthless) crack at the TV schedule:

Week 1 - NYJ-BUF 1:00 CBS, PHI-WAS 1:00 FOX, SEA-GB 4:25 FOX
Week 2 - PHI-KC 1:00 FOX, NYJ-OAK 4:05 CBS, DAL-DEN 4:25 FOX
Week 3 - MIA-NYJ 1:00 CBS, NYG-PHI 1:00 FOX, CIN-GB 4:25 CBS
Week 4 - JAC-NYJ 1:00 CBS, NYG-TB 4:05 FOX, OAK-DEN 4:25 CBS
Week 5 - LAC-NYG 1:00 CBS, NYJ-CLE 1:00 FOX, DAL-GB 4:25 FOX
Week 6 - NE-NYJ 1:00 CBS, TB-ARI 4:05 FOX, PIT-KC 4:25 CBS
Week 7 - CIN-PIT 1:00 CBS, NYJ-MIA 1:00 FOX, SEA-NYG 4:25 CBS
Week 8 - ATL-NYJ 1:00 FOX, HOU-SEA 4:05 CBS, DAL-WAS 4:25 FOX
Week 9 - LAR-NYG 1:00 FOX, KC-DAL 4:25 CBS
Week 10 - NYJ-TB 1:00 CBS, GB-CHI 1:00 FOX, NYG-SF 4:25 FOX
Week 11 - KC-NYG 1:00 CBS, BUF-LAC 4:05 FOX, NE-OAK 4:25 CBS
Week 12 - CAR-NYJ 1:00 FOX, DEN-OAK 4:25 CBS
Week 13 - KC-NYJ 1:00 CBS, NYG-OAK 4:25 FOX
Week 14 - DET-TB 1:00 FOX, NYJ-DEN 4:05 CBS, DAL-NYG 4:25 FOX
Week 15 - NYJ-NO 1:00 CBS, PHI-NYG 1:00 FOX, NE-PIT 4:25 CBS
Week 16 - LAC-NYJ 1:00 CBS, NYG-ARI 4:25 FOX

Games at 1:00 between non-local teams are my best guess. The Jets and Giants play at the same time four times which has been very rare in the past. At least there are only four two-game weeks - there were six by my count last year.

I rarely post, but didn't see anyone covering this point... in testing whether it was only the AFC East / Patriots that had this unbalanced schedule with all divisional games in the last half of the season, the Falcons schedule is equivalently unbalanced... http://www.nfl.com/schedules/2017/REG/Falcons

Their final 8 games are a pretty nasty run: home vs Dallas, away vs Seahawks, then finish with 5 in 6 division games with both the Saints and Bucs rematches less than 22 days apart and the Vikings thrown in there too. Only saving grace is they have 11 days between the Saints and Bucs in mid-December.

Can't seem to post the image in as well, so I typed it in:

1 - at Bears 9/10 1:00 pm
2 - Packers 9/17 8:30 pm
3 - at Lions 9/24 1:00 pm
4 - Bills 10/1 1:00 pm
5 - BYE
6 - Dolphins 10/15 1:00 pm
7 - at Patriots 10/22 8:30 pm
8 - at Jets 10/29 1:00 pm
9 - at Panthers 11/5 1:00 pm
10 - Cowboys 11/12 4:25 pm
11 - at Seahawks 11/20 8:30 pm
12 - Buccaneers 11/26 1:00 pm
13 - Vikings 12/3 1:00 pm
14 - Saints 12/7 8:25 pm
15 - at Buccaneers 12/18 8:30 pm
16 - at Saints 12/24 1:00 pm
17 - Panthers 12/31 1:00 pm

Bumping this thread because the506 has more clarity on broadcast info in terms of Pats-centric NYC telecasts. Games are subject to being flexed starting in Week 5. Right now, I project that 9 of 16 games will be on in NYC without having to utilize the NFL package.

Week 1 vs KC: NBC
Week 2 at NO 1:00: CBS single week. Won't be on here due to Jets at 4:25.
Week 3 vs. Houston 1:00 CBS doubleheader but Jets are on at the same time
Week 4 vs. Carolina 1:00 FOX single. Giants on late so not on here.
Week 5 at TB: CBS/NFLN TNF
Week 6 at Jets: 1:00 CBS On in NYC.
Week 7 vs. Atlanta SNF NBC

Week 8 vs. LAC 1:00 CBS. CBS single but NYJ is on FOX at the same time.
Week 9 BYE
Week 10 at Denver SNF NBC
Week 11 vs. Oakland in Mexico City 4:25 CBS. This is a national game
.
Week 12 vs. Miami 1:00 CBS. CBS doubleheader but Jets are on FOX at the same time so it won't be on.
Week 13 at Buffalo 1:00 CBS. CBS single and Jets are on at 1:00. Won't be on.
Week 14 at Miami MNF ESPN
Week 15 at Pittsburgh 4:25 CBS. This is a designated national game.

Week 16 vs. Buffalo 1:00 CBS. Jets are on at the same time so it won't be on.
Week 17 vs. NYJ 1:00 CBS. On in NYC.

Week 8 vs. LAC 1:00 CBS. CBS single but NYJ is on FOX and Pats-Chargers is listed as the top CBS game
You can't show a game on the opposite network simultaneously when the local team is at home (unless it's the Jets and Giants obviously which happens a few times this year). The CBS game that week in NYC will be at 4.

The World Wide Leader just posted an article where they amass what they believe is the best NFL roster money can buy - while staying under the salary cap.

Three Pats: Brady, Gronk, Butler.

But what I found funny is the entire time I was reading it I kept thinking to myself, "could the 2017 Patriots, with the benefit of Belichick and a more cohesive unit, beat this team?"

That's what Belichick will do to your rationale.

Correct. I originally thought that if the Giants weren't on that they could possibly pick whatever game they wanted. You're right, the Houston-Seattle game will be on here. This is such an antiquated rule. There's nothing stopping Jets fans from watching their game.

Except, you know....they're the Jets.
