Right, and all 3 of those guys are out of football now (maybe not Terrance Williams, but I haven't heard his name this year). They were all on the downswing last year, clearly. They should be facing 8 and 9 man fronts. The only weapon in the offense starts every play from 7 yards behind the LOS.That's fair but he had those receivers you mentioned last year and he was still only marginally better than this year. Even in his good season he was incapable of stretching the field and it took an otherworldly season from the line and Elliott to propel the offense. It's not a mystery why they're constantly facing 8 and 9 man fronts.
Now, to your point about poor roster construction, I've spilled a ton of ink griping about that. So you're preaching to the choir on that.
Hopefully, Dallas will eventually put some skill position guys around him, and we'll see what he does. I just don't think you can really judge him based on what he has to work with right now. Just like you couldn't really judge Brady in the first few weeks trying to make plays with guys who probably wouldn't even be on most NFL rosters.
