Is this a sign that Lohrei might be coming up?
I doubt it - they wouldn’t bring Lohrei up to sit, so they’d need to move a LD first.

It’s more likely that they’re starting cap machinations with a stretch of home games (Keep sending Mitchell up/down in paper transactions to bank cap space), thinking about giving Zboril another shot, or bringing Heinen on board.

I don’t think they’ll go with 6 Ds for any length of time.

Okay, thanks. That makes sense.

If the report is true, it’ll be interesting to see what moves get made with Forbort and Zboril.

They could split third-pair games between Lohrei and Forbort as a way to ease Lohrei into the league.

Zboril seems to no longer be in their plans.

I'd love them to trade Forbort, but if I had to bet on what's more likely for him, a trade or an extension with a raise I'd sadly put it all on the extension

Zboril’s already been waived, cleared, and sent to Providence. It’s fairly obvious at this stage that his Boston Bruins career is probably over, and his career in North America is likely winding down.

Just out of curiosity, is there anything in the salary cap rules that would prevent the Bruins from signing Bergeron or Krejci towards the end of the season? I mean, they both sounded pretty happy to retire, so I don't really see it happening, but... this Bruin team looks like it has the makings of a contender and either of them would be better than anyone the Bruins could trade an arm and a leg for at the deadline.

They have to sign by a certain date to be eligible for the playoffs. It was a thing 2 years ago when Krejci was playing in the Czech Republic.

Bergy doesn’t strike me as a guy who would do the half season thing but I guess you never know.

Glabellar stitches fucking suck. You feel them every time you do anything with your face, which is all the time.

Anyone concerned about Lindholm? Through 8 games he has a line of 0-0-0. Coming into this year, since his arrival in Boston he had one 6-game pointless stretch and 2 3-game pointless stretches in regular season play. So 8 is his longest stretch without a point as a Bruin.

Of course, he also has 0 points in 11 playoff games as a Bruin. And if you count reg season and playoffs together, Lindholm is currently on a stretch of 17 games without a point (the final 2 of last season, the 7 game playoff series, and the first 8 this season).

He did break his foot last season and did not look himself in the playoffs. And this year, he is essentially carrying the same load in terms of ice time that he always has. But he is a -2, where every other defenseman who has played is at least a +1.

Just a fluke, or is he not all the way back from his injury?

Yeah a fractured foot would really hinder him in the playoffs, especially pushing off, but since I see no surgery I'd imagine he should be fine now.

I'm not really worried about him yet in a way that I didn't expect him to keep the pace he started last year with. He had 53 points last year, previously maxed at 34 back in 14/15. I expect him to slot in at around 35-40 points, which is great. He seems to be skating well, and you never hear his name called on the broadcasts, which is a good thing since he's not making obvious mistakes. If we are at the end of November and he's still at only a few points I might worry, but not there yet

I think he looked bad his first few games, especially in his own end. Felt like he righted the ship against San Jose, especially in the offensive end.

Heinen in place of Brown on the 4th line in this morning's practice. Brown split time w/ Forbort on 3rd pair D

Frederic placed on Poitras’ line to counter the risks of teams trying to thump on the rookie.

Coach Montgomery on Trent Frederic playing alongside Matt Poitras: "Teams know that Poitras' a good player and they're trying to test him. I don't think he'll get tested as much with Freddy on his line."

It was nice seeing in the Red Wings came how quickly all the Bruins came to his defense on the boarding shot... I think Pasta might have even been the first in there to get the guy...

Quick question... is it the 10th game that triggers the year tolling or would it be the 11th game if he played? So it tonight the last night he plays without any fear of the year tolling or is it the next game?
