I'm guessing that the early game is an opportunity to provide unscheduled live baseball on a Tuesday afternoon in place of some of the tired programming that probably isn't generating a whole lot of viewers at his point of the season. The latter was perhaps scheduled because everyone seems to want in on Sox vs Yanks.Interesting that the battle for 4th place (in-division) would be of interest to national tv.
