So true, the list of elbows making the trip to Birmingham or the beach to visit with Dr. A Andrews and getting the thumbs up/northing to see here diagnosis is a short one.Jimmy isn't really a second opinion anymore. He's usually the confirming opinion. Not good news.
Next person that says that ever again gets pistol whipped.Let NO ONE EVER AGAIN ask "what will we do with too many starting pitchers?"
More like congratulations Henry Owens or Brian Johnson. I have a feeling one of Wright, Rodriguez or Pomeranz isn't going to make it out of spring training 100% ready for action either.Congratulations Pomeranz, you made the rotation.
Steve Williams is also dead...so there is that in itself...Dr. Death.
The Elias era is about to begin. Yeccchh.More like congratulations Henry Owens or Brian Johnson. I have a feeling one of Wright, Rodriguez or Pomeranz isn't going to make it out of spring training 100% ready for action either.
Oh good I forgot we had Kyle freaking Kendrick.I'd think Kendrick would get the call first over Owens or Johnson if needed. Hector Velzaquez probably would too. Roenis is a candidate as well.
Thanks, now I can't not see our third baseman destroying a salad bar that doesn't have bacon and chunky blue cheese dressing.Oh good I forgot we had Kyle freaking Kendrick.
And neither are Wright and Rodriguez! Ugh.Welp.
At least Sale and Pomeranz aren't injury risks.
Welp.
This sucks.
You do realize that if they didn't trade Buchholz they wouldn't have Chris Sale on this team, correct? They didn't save the $12.5 million. They turned it from Clay Buchholz to Chris Sale.I understand this is a total hindsight bitch, but trading Buchholz to save money sucked. Wright, Pomeranz, and Rodriguez all had injury issues. And now we just lost the one guy who wasn't an injury risk.
This isn't good.
Maybe this should teach you (and most of us) that all pitchers are injury risks.I understand this is a total hindsight bitch, but trading Buchholz to save money sucked. Wright, Pomeranz, and Rodriguez all had injury issues. And now we just lost the one guy who wasn't an injury risk.
This isn't good.
How so?You do realize that if they didn't trade Buchholz they wouldn't have Chris Sale on this team, correct? They didn't save the $12.5 million. They turned it from Clay Buchholz to Chris Sale.
Sale's salary for 2017 is $12 million. Buchholz' for 2017 is $13.5. The Sox have made is quite clear they do not intend to trigger the luxury tax, so in a way they're up against a cap. Dealing Buchholz and flipping that money to pay Sale allows them to keep the payroll the same. How so?
Exactly. This rotation was so over the top good, that it's disappointing, but still going in as a big improvement over last year. This sucks but come on guys. We are looking at a rotation of Procello, Sale, Pomeranz, Wright and Erod. That is not a bad way to start the season. Most teams after losing their ace (if that is indeed what is going to happen) would be in a lot worse shape then the Sox.
Just what I was thinking as well. I assume those are an option if the UCL isn't completely torn. Saito had the same done years ago. What about all the platelet rich injections and stem cell injections and all that? Are there real options to avoid TJ surgery? Tanaka never went under the knife for the mfy's.
No. Just because Price got hurt the team wasn't going to blow it up or tank. If they did then obviously Moncada/Kopech all day long.Anyone still rather have Kopech and Moncada instead of Chris Sale?
What happens to the next person who demands we go out and give a huge contract to a pitcher on the wrong side of 30 because he's a Proven Stud?Next person that says that ever again gets pistol whipped.
This is probably better directed at ERod, as he seemed the most likely to start in AAA as the 6th starter, but yeah.Congratulations Pomeranz, you made the rotation.
Ace seems a bit strong - despite his compensation package. Last year's Price (if he was healthy) on this year's team could be their #3.This sucks but come on guys. We are looking at a rotation of Procello, Sale, Pomeranz, Wright and Erod. That is not a bad way to start the season. Most teams after losing their ace (if that is indeed what is going to happen) would be in a lot worse shape then the Sox.
