Except for Mike Keenan.cshea said:How many times does a goalie get pulled for non-injury reasons, then get put back into the same game? It pretty much never happens. The goalies aren't really conditioned to go shuttle in and out during a game. Once they get pulled, they basically shut it down.
I wouldn't have pulled Lundqvist in the first place, but that's another story.
I remember he had two of the top 10 goalies of all time on his Blackhawks team in Belfour and Hasek and would shuffle them in and out mercilessly. God Keenan sucked.cshea said:Yep, Keenan is the one guy who would do that.
Not in the playoffs. Maybe in the regular season, sure. It happens once in a great while, but not often.ngruz25 said:Didn't the Bruins pull Thomas once, only to have the back-up actually do worse than him, and so Thomas was put back in to be terrible again? Am I making this up?
Yeah, 5 or so years ago they had a 8-6 games (or something like that) where Thomas started, got pulled for Fernandez, then put back in the game. I think it was against the Leafs and they did the same thing.ngruz25 said:Didn't the Bruins pull Thomas once, only to have the back-up actually do worse than him, and so Thomas was put back in to be terrible again? Good god

Is there a more hateable franchise than the Canadiens? At this point, I barely care about the Yankees. The Canadiens have been consistently hateable forever. I kinda liked Saku Koivu, but of course the fans couldn't deal with a European captain.

Pull out the other one, Saku is the most popular Hab captain since Jean Beliveau.

You're the Subban of messageboard embellishment. While I know Koivu is pretty popular in Montreal, there is no chance he is "more popular" than the little Richard, Cournoyer, Savard or Gainey.
tbb345 said:I got into an argument on Twitter with a guy about this, but at what point does the league suspend Subban or at the very least penalize him during the game? It is disgraceful to watch all his initiating contact then flopping or embellishing contact act EVERY SINGLE FUCKING GAME. Its sad to watch and for a league that prides itself on toughness and manning up, it's a definite black eye.
I also have to wonder, what is his Q rating throughout the league among the players? I know all the mediots and the hockey "experts" love him and can't slob on his knob enough, but I highly doubt the players are as keen on his bullshit act.
TheStoryofYourRedRightAnkle said:The whole "coming back from lymphoma" thing helps. He was a hell of a gutsy player for a Hab.

The guys (Boomer and Carton) on WFAN this morning were just railing against Subban and the Canadiens for their embellishment, as if this is something new. B's fans have been observing this for a while now.
But it's nice to see other cities recognizing what crap Montreal pulls, game in and game out.
Someone's got to tell Subban it's ultimately going to damage his reputation and career. He's so fuckin' talented and a really good player. Clutch, too; he's a huge reason the Bruins aren't in the ECF. There's just no need for all the childish theatrics. Does he want to become the next Lidstrom, or to become known as a diving jackass? It takes away from his impressive game when he pulls this shit.johnmd20 said:
It is a great thing it's getting the attention it deserves. This can't continue, it will hurt the game. They really need to try to nip it in the bud to the best of their ability now. I realize it's difficult, but i do think some kind of "after the game" review would help, a lot. If you see a blatant dive, a player is suspended for a game. That will stop it right quick.
Spacemans Bong said:And Subban is the best player I've ever seen in the CH, outside of goal. He obviously likes being a pest but he's going to do that whether he embellishes or not.
Spacemans Bong said:I don't think there's any belief in being God's gift to hockey.

But if he keeps embellishing like this on this big stage, he's going to get a rep as a flopper and that might take away all the great things about his game. Subban is tough, fast, relentless, and he has a powerful shot. But, right now, all I think is that he's a flopping dick.
Spacemans Bong said:
I definitely don't want to see a Subban haters club start the way that there's always that one guy who thinks Crosby is a pussy.
