Well la dee da, Freddy Sieves had the game of his life on Monday, and Patrick Marleau's corpse death rattled two pucks past Tuukka.

Ron Hainsey is a lot of things. A top 4 (let alone #1) defenseman, he is not. Curb stomp these losers tomorrow and get back here to wrap it up. Bonus points for a Ference salute to the suits at ACC.

Apparently Ron Hainsey is very smart and very good at crossword puzzles, at least relative to your average NHLer. That is your fun Ron Hainsey fact you probably didn't know for today.

Makes sense given he's spent the majority of his career on the Blue Jackets, Thrashers/Jets, and Hurricanes. Holy shit that is a triumvirate of suck.

Hainsey was excellent at Lowell. And to his credit, he did immediately win a Cup upon finally making the playoffs. Although he is from Barely New England.

But yes, if he’s your number one, you’re going to lose.

Not sure but it's not the Celtics, at least explicitly, since they just played Game 2 yesterday. Maybe it has to do with spacing the series later down the road due to the NBA?

Cassidy said there is a good chance that Gryz plays tomorrow. Thank God we don't have to see Holden act like a traffic cone.
Agreed. I think Holden has been serviceable, and against basically any other team in the playoffs I'm kind of, sort of okay with him in the lineup. But Toronto is the worst possible matchup for him.

We shall fill the off day void with another amazing Chara IG post. An ode to Nirvana, Music and Dave Grohl.

(I don’t have IG so here is a tweet)

The thought of a skinny teenage Chara dancing and bouncing off the walls to Nirvana cranked up loud makes my day.

Bruins should be going into tomorrow night’s game with a ton of confidence.

And here I was going down a rabbit hole of Zdeno Chara Halloween costumes after realizing that he could totally play Gru in a real life Despicable Me and then remembered out that he totally did once to visit kids at children's hospital.

Also, I hope Matt Cooke's personal hell looks a lot like this:

Looks like the Bruins are small betting favorites tonight, as they likely should be.

They had a ton of chances in game 3 to take a lead, but just couldn't convert. I'm confident heading into tonight

I woke up thinking about this game.

From the Toronto Star game preview:

Boston spent the past two days making adjustments to their two-way play, specifically to guard against the Leaf’s stretch pass … The Bruins, while losing Game 3, still outshot the Leafs 16-11 in the second period and 18-7 in the third ... A big part of the Leafs’ success in Game 3 was a result of staying out of the penalty box. Boston’s power play, which went 5-for-10 in the first two games, went scoreless in its lone opportunity Monday … Ten of the Bruins’ 12 goals in the first two games came from high-danger areas in front of the Leafs net.

Three of those things are encouraging: Bruins should handle the cherry-pickers better tonight; Bruins have put pucks on net all series; Bruins are having their way down low with the Toronto D.

As for the fourth, we'll see if the refs swallow the whistles again tonight.

The Bergeron part is pure porn about my favorite hockey player of all time

Claude basically said, “I want you to look at Patrice and do everything exactly like he does it. You’re not going to be the best player on the ice every single night, because Patrice is going to be the best player on the ice every single night. So I want you to be the second best.”

So I watched Patrice from day one, and I saw the ultimate professional. I don’t have many rules I live by, but one of my rules is: If you say anything bad about my brother, or about Patrice Bergeron, I’ll fight you. The guy is simply unbelievable. I’ve watched him play with broken bones, a punctured lung… a freaking punctured lung.

Was I the only one thinking that the forward from Cole Harbour that always killed them was going to be Crosby at the end of the story?
Yeah that popped into my head as well.

He would’ve said it was Crosby if that is who it was, but I don’t think they crossed paths. Sid did play minor hockey for Cole Harbor, but he’s a year older than Brad and at times was playing up an age group.

Yeah you're right, for some reason I thought Marchand was a year older. They wouldn't have played in the league at the same time.

This may be the best story ever:

We got to day seven or eight when we got a phone call from someone who shall remain nameless. Every player who was still in town got the same message: “All right, boys, time to go back home. It’s over. Leave the city.”

Pretty sure the rumor is that Chara made the phone call telling them to shut it down, but I could be wrong.

Based on the bar bill we saw from the casino, I'm relieved that someone did call. They might have caused an alcohol shortage in the area if no one had.

Edit: Or am I confusing them with another Boston team???

I got pretty drunk for games 1 and 2, and the Bruins won.

I was sober for game 3, and they lost.

Won’t make that mistake tonight.

Hockey code of silence sucks at times like this. “Upper body injury” Where? When? How?
