Sniff, sniff...Free agency is a lot less fun when you're constantly refreshing for even a sniff of good news
That's essentially what I saidNah, you always need to account for the field. What surprises me is the handicapper feels the field has the same chance as the Heat.
This looks right to me, if you add "Field"'s percentage to "Jazz." Heat are long shots. It's really Boston vs. Utah.Per Bookmaker:
Celtics 50.65% (-166 odds)
Jazz 31.58% (+157)
Heat 8.99% (+803)
Field 8.78% (+824)
I have been up twice at 1am and now 4am PST to check in on the brisket that I am smoking -- and my next move is to come here and refresh. It's 4 AM on the west coast. Wake up, Gordon.
I hope your brisket gets smoked with Haywood todayI have been up twice at 1am and now 4am PST to check in on the brisket that I am smoking -- and my next move is to come here and refresh.
Let's go Gordon.
Maybe they had dinner at one of these:I hear he likes New England clam chowder.
In the land of max contracts, I'm not sure why a player would even visit other teams if he wasn't inclined to leave, other than maybe to put pressure on a GM to sign certain players, like I guess Ricky Rubio? I think having your own team make a formal pitch is kind of disrespectful, as well, and comes off like a player wanting to show he's giving everyone a fair chance before he bolts. If a five-hour meeting is required to convince a guy who's been around seven years to stay and make more than he can anywhere else, there are probably some issues to begin with.I think he's definitely leaving and just doesn't want to make Utah think they never had a chance. Sleeping on it out of respect.
Well, they're not bidding. Of the 3 teams in it...4th of July would mean he's signing with the Sixers, no?

I disagree. This is probably the only real opportunity most players feel an open conversation can be had regarding the direction and future of a team. Stars in this league can do it every day if they want. Maybe that's not how Hayward wants to do things, but I still don't take it as a promising sign from Utah's perspective. How many max level guys visit other teams only to ultimately return to their same team?I disagree. Hey ward isn't an all-nba talent. Lebron gets to make future plans with the team. Hayward doesnt.Stars in this league can do it every day if they want. We'll see.
Speaking of which, has any max free agent ever done the tour thing and ended up resigning with his own team? Seems to me that unless a player is trying to get more money - which is not the case here - after spending five or seven or how ever many years with a team, a player is going to have a good idea whether or not he wants to resign before free agency starts. In the land of max contracts, I'm not sure why a player would even visit other teams if he wasn't inclined to leave, other than maybe to put pressure on a GM to sign certain players, like I guess Ricky Rubio? Can't think of any off the top of my head. I'm definitely more worried about Miami than Utah.Speaking of which, has any max free agent ever done the tour thing and ended up resigning with his own team? Fake.Just saw tweets from Utah sports writer saying it's Miami. @EHollandSLT
Sorry not smart enough to paste tweets
I think johnmd was telling people that he might re-sign but he certainly wasn't going to resign.Wtf with these posts? Did he re-sign or are people just guessing?
Some fake account said he went to Miami and then half the people came in and said it was fake and the other half inexplicably said he re-signed with Utah.Wtf with these posts? Did he re-sign or are people just guessing?
Well Incarcerated Bob just broke it, does that count?Bad enough that fake accounts feel the need to break #FakeNews without having to see it reposted here too. Can't we just wait until Woj or Aldridge break it?
No. And he hasn't.Well Incarcerated Bob just broke it, does that count?
Wouldn't bother with this. It's going to be Players Tribune when it happens. Some guy named Dan Lifshatz on twitter (apparently works for 98.5) saying Hayward to the Celtics is a done deal. James Stewart is retweeting him. On mobile so no direct link.
No, not this asshole. He had Durant as a done deal last year. Some guy named Dan Lifshatz on twitter (apparently works for 98.5) saying Hayward to the Celtics is a done deal. James Stewart is retweeting him. On mobile so no direct link.
