Seats are at Section VIP7 and tickets also list Legends Restaurant access.
Awesome. This would be my plan:
- Game starts at 3
- Arrive at 1, go to a Boston Garden Society entrance. An easy one would be if you go to Hub Hall (great lunch spot if needed before 1), go to the back of it to exit, then take a right. The entrance is right there. Show the security guy your ticket, he'll let you in the side entrance go through security and you take an elevator to 3. Get out of the elevator and you are... by the locker rooms. Follow the signs, you'll pass the media room, probably see a bunch of basketballs and other stuff your 7 y/o will freak out from seeing in person. You are now walking in the same tunnels the players use. Wouldn't be shocking if you turn the corner and run into Horford.
- I'd go directly to the court. Players will be out there stretching/shooting around. The normal gates open 90 min before so the building will be mostly empty outside of the teams and you. It's pretty wild. Your seats are directly under the basket the Magic will be shooting on. Even if your seats aren't AA, I would go hang out there. Especially with a 7 year old. The odds of someone tossing them a basketball or saying hello are very high. I'll keep an eye out tonight. At some point the players will leave, but generally about an hour before the game everyone is out there shooting around, it's really cool. They will then leave about 45 min before the game. I'd highly recommend going to Putnam. Easy to get a drink and some food. They used to have a free buffet but scrapped it this year. Usually there is some free food/water around too. So my rough plan, get there 2 hours before, hang out on the floor for an hour or so, then go to the Putnam club grab some food/drink/bathroom.
- The other cool thing. Outside of the Putnam club is the visitors locker room. You will see the players huddling, jumping up and down, normal "in the tunnel stuff", while just causally enjoying your beverage. It's roped off, but you're 5 feet away. Your kid might get some high fives. So when the players leave to go to the locker room, you should go to Putnam. You'll be outside their locker room until they come out.
- You will not be able to go back to your seats while the players are in the tunnel. Once the players go they will let you go back in. I'd do that. It'll get you back in your seats about 10-15 min before game time. Now the stadium will be mostly full and the atmosphere is totally different.
- At halftime go back to the Putnam club if you want food/drink. They will have some free stuff to take with you. Your seats are the closest to the exit back to the Putnam club so you can front run everyone else.
- Enjoy the 2nd half.
- Your tickets let you go in the Putnam club after the game too. They will again have some free food/non-alcohol drinks. Great time to go back and chill while everyone else leaves the Garden.
ENJOY!!!! my kids are not old enough yet, but im incredibly jealous of the joy you'll experience. Take a ton of pictures/videos. It'll be a core memory -- let yourself get immersed in the game action.
