Sorry, my post came off as a criticism but it was intended as agreement.None, that's my point. It's Mac that's the problem.

He'd be a terrible fit in Canada. He doesn't have the arm strength to play on a 120x53.3 yard field; 150x65 isn't going to help him.He won't even be a backup. He can't throw the ball.
Get ready to learn Canadian, kid I hear Winnipeg is lovely this time of year.
He'd be an awful CFL QB. There's two downs, you have to throw like crazy and stretch the defense vertically. The 30 yard endzone only makes the red zone easier if you can actually throw the ball downfield. He won't even be a backup. He can't throw the ball.

A. They are giving him coverOh shit, was he not benched?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Fine. Leave him in Germany. He'd be an awful CFL QB. There's two downs, you have to throw like crazy and stretch the defense vertically. The 30 yard endzone only makes the red zone easier if you can actually throw the ball downfield.
Phantom injury to bench him for the rest of the year coming up.Oh shit, was he not benched?

That’s fine. I was replying to the suggestion that everyone thought Mac was the right pick. When I was watching the draft that night with my son, we were both pleading for Bill to trade up and take Fields. Mac was far from a unanimous choice.Fields would have been even worse, he is a slower processor than Mac. They would have needed to implement an entire new offensive system for Fields, who I was also a fan of coming out. Honestly the 2021 QB class will likely go down as the most disappointing in decades.
This is ridiculous, dudeThey need to cut him. Now. He has no place on this team and his mere presence is a distraction they do not need. He is a net negative in all ways.
Is it? Without knowing the cap impacts. The guy seems like an ass, and is not good at football. This is ridiculous, dude
It's not. I really feel that he is a negative on this team in that he drags down the play of those around them. This is ridiculous, dude
It looks like $4 million in dead cap next year. So he’s not getting cut.Is it? Without knowing the cap impacts. The guy seems like an ass, and is not good at football.
Why keep him in the building.
Cam's only problem was that he was cooked as a QB. Still a good leader, just couldn't throw anymore. BB playing him until the end definitely got the Pats a few more wins. That team probably should have picked top 10 as opposed to 15. But that was not Cam's fault at all. Cam was a lot more fun to watch than Mac.I loved what Cam gave the team in 2020. Yeah, he could not throw, he had shitty weapons especially after Edelman was hurt, but he played tough, ran the ball like a beast, was accountable, had charisma, and never blamed his teammates. Mac throws just as poorly these days and brings nothing else to the table. How many time do we have to watch him shit the bed in a tight spot?
Nobody is starting next week. Bye.Honestly, I was a little surprised they threw Zappe in there for the final drive. You don't usually see that. But, to me, that means Mac isn't starting next week.
I think there is a huge difference between benching him and cutting him. It's not. I really feel that he is a negative on this team in that he drags down the play of those around them.
He's currently giving a presser where he's questioning not throwing a Hail Mary at the end of the first half. He's a terrible teammate, a terrible leader, and a terrible QB.
Players like that poison an organization. Think Adalius Thomas in his last year here.
I simply don't see any reason for him to have a roster spot. He's not a good teammate. He's not a smart football player. What exactly would he add to the team when benched? He would be a distraction.I think there is a huge difference between benching him and cutting him.
Guys get cut all the time despite cap hits. And no NFL team is giving you anything for him. Maybe the Rhein Fire might take a flyer.Because there is a cap hit involved. Also there could be a team dumb enough to give you an asset for him thinking they can fix him.
I don't think this will stop them from cutting him. They can always trade him for a swap of 7th round pics or some nonsense. He's probably a useful backup somewhere. It looks like $4 million in dead cap next year. So he’s not getting cut.
I would love if they cut Jones. Simply for the fact that I’m sick of watching him. I want him off this team, and more importantly, off my TV, because I’m sick of looking at his stupid fucking excuse for QB play every week.I think there is a huge difference between benching him and cutting him.
But then they still have to bring in a veteran QB in free agency if they draft a kid that shouldn’t play right away. They’re not going to spend what it takes to do that.I don't think this will stop them from cutting him. They can always trade him for a swap of 7th round pics or some nonsense. He's probably a useful backup somewhere.
They have over $12 million in dead cap this year from Jonnu Smith alone. Hell, they have $2.3 million in dead cap from Jake Bailey.I would love if they cut Jones. Simply for the fact that I’m sick of watching him. I want him off this team, and more importantly, off my TV, because I’m sick of looking at his stupid fucking excuse for QB play every week.
But in all probability, not only is he not getting cut, but he’s probably on the roster in 2024. If he’s cut, they’ll take a $4 million dead cap hit. Then they would either have to either draft a QB high (for a lot of guaranteed money) and/or sign a veteran for somewhere in the $20 million range if they want anyone that’s any good.
I think it’s more likely that Mac & whatever QB they draft will both be on the roster next year.
I think he’s hot garbage too and have no desire to see him play another snap for this team. But there are also logistical and pragmatic reasons to keep him on the roster.I would love if they cut Jones. Simply for the fact that I’m sick of watching him. I want him off this team, and more importantly, off my TV, because I’m sick of looking at his stupid fucking excuse for QB play every week.

He’s not getting cut now. It’s ridiculous to think he would be. He’s either getting traded in the offseason or brought back with a veteran or a draft pick for an open competition. Is it? Without knowing the cap impacts. The guy seems like an ass, and is not good at football.

These are the Mac Jones' of charts. Not sure which is worse. But when a chart requires you to stare uncomprehendingly at something that can be explained with a simple sentence followed by a bulleted point list....well, just awful.
He's leaning backward as he throws, with no apparent reason to do soHere it is, the Butt Fumble of interceptions. It actually looks worse than it did live:

Holy SHIT. I mean, he's SO fucking open and Mac has PLENTY of space. Here it is, the Butt Fumble of interceptions. It actually looks worse than it did live:

It's basically saying Pop has great YAC rating, and it appears to be based on his ability to get separation. These are the Mac Jones' of charts. Not sure which is worse. Sorry...irrelevant I know. Back to busting on Mac....
I’ve seen little kids in my neighborhood make far better throws playing football in their front yard with friends. Here it is, the Butt Fumble of interceptions. It actually looks worse than it did live:

OK, but why let him throw at all and risk an INT?Easy answer is they figured he would probably either not reach the end zone or gets sacked and fumble and lead to a touchdown...

I do love Slater. He is such a great player, teammate, and person.@sophieewellerr
Matthew Slater on his message to Mac Jones: “He’s got to stay positive. Right now everybody’s counting him out… you can’t let people who don’t know half of what’s going on in the building, impact what’s going on in the building.”
He does this on 90% of this throws. Every other QB in the league steps into throws when they have time. He’s either flat footed or falling backwards. Combined with the arm strength issue it’s the worst possible combo. He's leaning backward as he throws, with no apparent reason to do so
He pollutes multiple threads with this crap. Don’t engage.Hence why I said the team was good if the QB did not suck.
"ENOUGH" are you ok?
There was no risk of an INT on the play they called.OK, but why let him throw at all and risk an INT?
The Edmonton Elks were 4-14 this year. Edmonton is very far from Foxboro. Fricking cold too.He won't even be a backup. He can't throw the ball.
Get ready to learn Canadian, kid I hear Winnipeg is lovely this time of year.
I live in Calgary now and if the Stampeders signed him, I wouldn't go.The Edmonton Elks were 4-14 this year. Edmonton is very far from Foxboro. Fricking cold too.
It was so badly underthrown that the Colts LB who is five yards in front of Blackmon almost intercepted it as well. JesusHere it is, the Butt Fumble of interceptions. It actually looks worse than it did live:

I was hoping the text of this read worse than the way he actually said it.Easy answer is they figured he would probably either not reach the end zone or gets sacked and fumble and lead to a touchdown...

The Rhein Fire went 14-0 this year and won the ELF championship with former Weber State QB Jadrian Clark under center...so probably not.Guys get cut all the time despite cap hits. And no NFL team is giving you anything for him. Maybe the Rhein Fire might take a flyer.
What's weird is that usually a player with a deficiency tries to compensate in another area. With his weak arm, you'd think Fuc Face would step into everything to get his arm speed up to something close to average. Instead he actually enhances his deficiency. He does this on 90% of this throws. Every other QB in the league steps into throws when they have time. He’s either flat footed or falling backwards. Combined with the arm strength issue it’s the worst possible combo.
Sounds like an idea for a new threadWho do we want as the starting QB Week 1, 2024?
Let’s try, on some level, to move on from these redundant discussions about a player that is incapable of making progress.
