Wilson is a pretty good athlete. He can move and he can put some mustard on his throws.
He just doesn't have the equilibrium, the speed of thought, the savvy, the dare I say it "calm eyes" to succeed.
Could he develop that kind of leadership? Dunno.

And their last 4 TD's were on either 1-play drives or defensive TD's:
10/8 vs. Broncos: (3Q) Breece Hall 72 yard run.
10/8 vs. Broncos: (4Q) Bryce Hall 39 yard fumble return.
10/15 vs. Eagles: (4Q) Breece Hall 8 yard run. Drive set up by 45 yard interception return.
10/29 vs. Giants: (1Q) Zach Wilson 50 yard pass to Breece Hall. Drive started at the 50, set up by punt return.
You have to go back to the first drive in the third quarter on 10/1 against the Chiefs to find a Jets multi-play TD drive. Since that drive, Jets had 3 1-play TDs, 17 FGs, and 46 drives ending with a punt or turnover. That's 66 drives, with the last 36 without a TD.
What's incredible is that Jets fans are having "Zach is not the issue" arguments. I don't understand the attachment to these bad young QBs.
There's a recurrent "the penalties are what's killing us" theme on WFAN lately. They do seem to have a penchant for poorly timed penalties, but it's not like they are anywhere near leading the league in penalties or penalty yardage.
They have a great young receiver. I bet NE would have 2 more wins if they had a receiver as good as Garrett Wilson.
Zach is already the backup. This is not like last year where some games he was sabotaging them. He had over 250 passing yards and just over 50 rushing last night. Jets had 83 yards of penalties and most were on the offense.
Counterpoint is that the Jets don't score points, though. 13, 6, and 12 the last 3 weeks. 250 yards are empty when it results in no TDs and 12 points.
I would take that bet in a second having watched plenty of Mac not throwing to wide open guys downfield.

They handled that well, let the play unfold if it is bang bang then correct it if the player was down.

It’s been complete trash since Miami game. Were lucky to beat Giants of all teams.
They seem mediocre. And their schedule is rough coming up. They really need this one.

McDermott was just given an extension over the summer but I’d consider moving on if I were Buffalo.

Yeah that’s a brutal stretch. Might be what they need. They seem to play to level of competition a lot.
