Wow. Mahomes keeps doing things that make me not like him. I've enjoyed watching him play, but the showboating, the sideline tiptoe fakes, the playing "through injury".....

That’s not a smart play, that’s a play that any NFL player should know to make. I refuse to wash Mahomes balls anymore than the media already does. Fuck him and fuck Taylor Swift

They fucking denied the Ideal Gas Law to justify suspending Brady. They don't give a fuck.
I don't know what you mean.. every time I played basketball in the winter as a kid my ball never bounced at all differently than it did in middle of the summer.

The Jets run D lost the game. Every team in the league should know by now you aren’t getting favorable calls against the Chiefs if the game is close late.

Nah, Taylor is great.
My sisters adore Taylor so I’ve been listening to her being praised for like 15 years. She makes generic pop music, I simply don’t like it, but I’ve had to suffer through a decade and a half of listening to it because my family refuses to listen to the music I like (Tool is less agreeable to the parents). Now she’s infringing on my football viewing experience and that’s the final straw

That you think she makes generic pop music is pretty funny considering she wasn't a pop musician for the first half of her career, and...... two of her last three albums were folk music.

Not trying to make this a Taylor Swift thread, but... c'mon.

What makes her awful in every way, without getting into her politics (I don't even know yours)?

She's a pretty great role model for young women. And she's a talented musician. So, go on.
It's a game thread and I'm not getting into a big debate about her. But it has nothing to do with her politics. I just don't like her.

My dislike of her has everything to do with my entire family’s/the worlds obsession with her and very little to do with her or her music

I will say this. The stories of her taking care of her touring crew makes me like her - I think her music is mostly meh but whatever, music is always up to the individual. None of us know what she’s really like behind closed doors but she seems to have a pretty good head on her shoulders, which can’t be easy given the attention she gets and the popularity she’s achieved.

I think she's got problems! The weird parasocial relationship with her fans is frankly fucked up!

But yeah, she treated her crew with insane praise and, well, money. I don't love her music but as you said, up to the individual.

To put another way: it's hard to be the most famous woman in the world (she is right now. Maybe it's Hillary Clinton or Merkel or Oprah or Kamala Harris or someone else a few years ago, but right now it's her or Beyonce), and from literally all accounts, she's not a piece of shit.

I'm EE and I endorse this post.

At this point I really don't know what to make of young Wilson. Moving around more seems to be good for him. And with that line, of course it should be. Looking further down field seemed good too.

Is it something he can build off of or is it just random weirdness? I'm actually looking forward to finding out. Didn't feel that way last week.

Nice job by him in a huge spot. I’m not getting my hopes up or anything.

The thing to me about Taylor Swift is that while she's attractive and puts out catchy music, she's not the orders of magnitude better than all of the other artists she is lapping in terms of popularity. Nobody gets to this level without a corporate army of people manufacturing the very idea of a Taylor Swift. Every single thing you see and hear about her has gone through multiple levels of people with 6-figure salaries before it hits your ears or eyes. Taylor Swift Inc, not the woman, is the most famous in the world.

Dunno. I think Swift is an incredible songwriter and performer. If it were that easy to create a mega star by committee we’d have more of them. By now calling her a generational talent isn’t adequate, you’re in GOAT territory.

And re: Mr Wilson, from my seat in the front row of the end zone upper deck, the All-22 view, I agree, his movement and misdirection was first rate. I was fooled several times when the ball suddenly showed up on the opposite sideline from where the flow of energy had been. That fumble was killer but those calls were truly unjust. The Jets were the better team.

Guys, I really like Burrow so I pulled up their schedule, I think they might be fucked. They have to go 9-5 to get to 9-8.

They’re lucky they have Cards next and a winnable Seahawks game after followed by a bye, hopefully enough for Joe Sheisty to get healthy. But after that they have a gauntlet.

Can we please stop talking about Swifts not named D’Andre? It’s not a music forum and I apologize for starting the digression with a throwaway comment

After last night's 60 yards, Travis Kelce is up to 155 yards on the year at 9.1 ypr. I think the bone bruise he suffered might have accelerated his journey towards the Cliff™. Not only are his numbers way off but he looks like a shell of himself out there. He's basically just a guy who catches the ball and falls down now.

So, is Sam LaPorta now the best TE in the NFL?

A lot of folks said that about him a few years ago when he got off to a slow start and he always ends up with a huge year. At some point he will decline. Maybe this is the year. But maybe not.

Definitely not LaPorta. Either Hock or Andrews, if it's not Kelce, although it is still Kelce.

The best pure TE in the game is Kittle. Because he's a monster on the block.

Total bag job. First time I remember rooting for the Jets

Grounding call bad but the defensive holding call was absurd

Never heard a Taylor Swift song as far as I know

But you all have never heard the music I listen to either:)

Did they say that? I just briefly looked over his early season game logs from his most recent seasons and I don't see how serious people could have actually been saying that. He's suffered a bad injury, he looks slow, and his numbers are way down. Maybe he'll get better healthwise as the season moves along, but were I a betting man I'd say his days as the best TE are ovah.

Even with the grounding call, Butker would still hit that same field goal.

Sauce didn't hold though, agreed that was absurd. Jets should have had the ball and a chance.

I don't think there's much to back that up statistically, tbh.

Having watched all of the late game, I think there could be nothing more fitting than to have Taylor Swift come to dominate this thread.

The 718
Kelce was not a factor. If not for his star reputation and newfound celebrity he would not have merited discussion, no more than any TE with a 6/60 night with no real big moments, ie a run of the mill TE game. At no point did he seem particularly dangerous.

Pacheco otoh looked a constant threat and had the crowd reacting every time he touched the ball.

All my subtle Swift references all this time undone by Kelce bringing her into the discussion....

When Taylor shows up to watch a game, she brings Deadpool, Wolverine and Gossip Girl. What does Kelce do to increase viewership of the game? Maybe he's just doing this to hide his decline.

NFL does not deserve the Swiftie bump #IdealGasLaw

That guy is Sonic the Hedgehog. He moves at a different pace. I don't think the Lynch comparison is accurate, primarily because he's such a straight line runner and Lynch was such a unique split leg back, but he's very fun (and annoying for the non-KC fans) to watch.
