Jets passed up a 57 yard FG with Greg Zuerlein as their kicker. Then they took a penalty and punted.

That is pathetic.

Also, TB down 11 and the 3rd quarter is almost over and they are just killing the clock with Keyshawn Vaughn runs up the middle.

Eagles jump offsides, Jets have a "free play", except it isn't a free play because Lazard commits a personal foul. Offsides declined, Jets lose 15 yards.
Was a really terrible call, though. They called a blindside block despite the guy facing the blocker. Unclear how else he could have been blocked

I still can’t believe the Lazard penalty. It was legit. I’m not complaining about the refs. It was so unnecessary

it was still unnecessary. He could have easily just stopped the defender without laying his shoulder into him. I get it's football but it's excessive in this era of player safety.

Holy fucking shit ALL TIME bad call in LA.

Holy cow these refs are just beyond the pale.
It seemed like they wanted to just call something that would be easily reviewable because they weren't paying attention or something.

The funniest part of it was Kyren's hands and the ball were clearly visible. It wasn't hidden from the ref at all. It was just right there and the ref chucked the bean bag.

Man, if you watch the NFL on Sundays, all you see is incompetence from the refs. Basic stuff is being missed.

A question for anyone with more football acumen than I have...

Why is a QB allowed to just throw a ball out-of-bounds but it is not considered a version of intentional grounding? This seems like an unfair punishment for the defense having done its job.

I cannot believe the Jets are in this game down the number of guys they are down.

You can get intentional grounding on a ball throw out of bounds, but refs almost never call it.

Also if the QB moves just outside the pocket he's allowed to throw it away as long as it goes past the line of scrimmage. That's a rule I hate. You should have to have a receiver in the area.

Ok, I did not know it could be called for the out-of-bounds pass. It seems like the ultimate cop-out each time I see a QB do it.

it moves but I’m a close enough guy on these plays so give him the catch. Sucks for me

They're not showing the one angle from behind that shows it clearly incomplete...

Amazing catch if that's what they're calling it

If you're outside the tackle box and the pass lands past the line of scrimmage (not where it leaves the field of play, where it actually lands), it's not intentional grounding. Super easy for most QBs who are scrambling out to just flick it 10+ yards out of bounds and they're safe.

I'm just annoyed at the refs today, but what pissed me off on that is the ref saying the call was confirmed. Not enough evidence? Sure. Can't really tell for sure it moved. But don't tell me you could see the ball didn't move.

OK, I am trying to be sure I really understand this rule. So, if a QB is in the pocket in the red zone and intentionally throws it out of the back of the end zone to avoid a sack, why isn't that a penalty? I understand the team has lost a down, but the sack would be even more beneficial for a defense.

Missed FG was our chance but like many teams these backup oline guys cannot cut it against good pass rushers

It sometimes is, we just rarely see it. And you lose the yards and the down on an intentional grounding call, just as bad as a sack really.

I think if you're the Jets, you score the TD even if they let you. There is too much time on the clock to work it down anyway. Now you're ahead by more than a FG.

I agree. The D is playing great so make them go all the way for the TD.

I've never quite believed in Jalen Hurts. This is an extended stretch of not great from him.
I mean, he made the Super Bowl last year (made the playoffs the year before) and was 2 plays away from winning the SB and his team is 5-0 this year.

There are QBs that are MUCH MUCH worse.
