I feel like the NFL has been a bit more brutal this year than the last few — feels like a bit of a return to what we were seeing in 2017, 2018. Maybe it is recency bias, but there have been some brutal plays.

That hit was definitely forceful but it looked like no helmet to helmet contact and Harris kept his legs moving afterwards. His chest was also moving on the ground. Hope he's OK.

Josh Allen makes so many mistakes. As athletic and occasionally great as he is, it’ll take a lot of turnover luck for him to win anything

Ref was behind him and thought he got the head. Sometimes calls get made because people watching plays in real time think they saw something that didn’t happen. Not an excuse, just the likely reason.
Had to be that but his head hardly moves at all with the initial contact. You rarely see a roughing call blown quite so badly and if it happens usually there is a referee conference where somebody else steps in.

Yeah, I think the worst calls are probably where the official thinks he got a good look, but it was just an illusion. I suspect that a lot of time guys maybe know they might not have gotten the best look and so they conference. I think the ones that are the most difficult is where the ref is certain, but wrong.

They ran a ton of clock on the last set of downs, presumably fearing the Bills getting the ball back. Probably too much, I though so as it was happening.

And no fucking idea what Taylor was doing there.

The head coach frustrated and the offensive coach confused. Great look

The clock ineptitude of NFL coaches who work 18 hour days on the most minute details always stuns me. Unless Tyrod audibled out of a pass play.

I would like a rule that says if a defensive foul is committed in the end zone under 30 seconds in a half, and accepted, the clock goes back to the time that was on it when the play started.

Most of these coaches endured multiple concussions as young adults. I’m not surprised at all how bad they all are with quick decision making.

Taylor definitely did that on his own.

He pointed to himself on the way off the field, and Daboll wouldnt have been so mad at him if that was the intended play call.

So they said that guy on the giants has two takeaways, a fumble recovery and a pick. If he had a forced fumble and a pick, would they also say two takeaways? I’ve always thought it’s weird the guy with the recovery gets all the credit

In any case there was a stoppage due to penalty right beforehand, which gave the coaches ample time to tell him "Hey, we have 14 seconds and no timeouts, we NEED to pass here on out." Not that Tyrod shouldn't have known this on his own...

For sure, coaching staff should have been 1000% clear what was needed in that situation as well. They deserve blame also.

Especially with a backup QB in there.

Exactly. That is why you score the TD. A more than a FG lead is big.
15-14 with 0 TO and about 1 min left

vs.

20-14 with 2 TO and 1:46 left

Can see why Phi let them score but it's not like the game was over if the Jets ran 3 plays and kicked a FG.
I think I'd go down at the 1 foot line and make them burn one of the TOs. Score on the next play. Other than that, I'd have to agree you're better off with the touchdown.

In his 13th year. Checking to an interior run against a stacked box is indefensible for an experienced QB.
I agree for sure.

But it wouldnt have been too hard for a coach to say "no running here, no time outs, we need to throw" to avert that unlikely scenario
