Need to do a better job showing for the ball in the defensive half. Too many turnovers where everybody is standing around watching.

Wood immediately shows he's a forward. He's got good hold up skills, he can finish, and he has the speed to be threat.

Costa Rica is generally OK, but they are standing around like assholes. Too much space between the midfield and the back four and the defense is a clown show.

I love that the US is executing, but Costa Rica is giving us the soccer equivalent of walk-up three-pointers.

I'm having traumatic flashbacks of Jozy taking a similar position, holding the ball, not being able to turn it and then passing it back 20 yards.

Absolutely. I'm surprised that a Ticos team that has shown so much defensive stoutness in the past has shown such tactical naivety.
