I don't think it's a "front" - I think Ainge probably treats analytics like Bill Simmons does. He reads the reports, considers them, and then goes with his gut anyway. That's just a guess of course. Either way, I don't see much reason to think Ainge gives the metrics much weight with respect to the draft. Or if he does, then the Celtics analytics team is generating very different reports than other teams, and public systems are.Look at his front office over the years. He's had high level analytical guys there since he took the job. Were they a front? We don't know how much influence and weight analytics played but you can't deny that he has embraced it with the front office teams he's built.
