How can you have delay of game if you don't let BUF snap the fucking ball???

The ref didn't let them snap. Fuck this league. They've earned every lost viewer and then some.

honestly sherman is going to be lucky if people aren't diving at his knees the rest of this game.

and the refs fuck the bills out of it by calling a phantom delay of game.

So moral of the story for end of half field goals where kicking team has no timeouts is to rough the kicker so they have no one to kick

I would be livid if it was anyone but Rex Ryan's team that got screwed there, but it was, so fuck it, I'm good with it. The NFL refs are literally a fucking joke at this point. A complete joke. They are the only reason some games are close, and other games are blowouts, because they fuck up 2-3 huge calls in every game, and at the end of the day, it's maybe 5-6 plays that truly make the difference in a lot of games.

That said, the Buffalo kicker did the right thing initially. He tried to fake being hurt to get the 15 yard penalty, but he sold it so much that his training staff came out. As soon as they came out, he has to sit out a play, unless the personal foul gets called. He didn't get the personal foul, so you saw him trying to tell his medical people to get the fuck off the field. High comedy.

Presumably a non-idiot officiating crew will call a personal foul and potentially make it hurt more, but if you're still just making a field goal shorter with a hobbled kicker it's worth it in the right situation.

Dead on.

Carpenter has a job in WWE waiting for him when he wants it with that selling.

Just because Carpenter wasn't hurt doesn't mean that wasn't dirty as fuck by Sherman.

If you think that was deliberate, you need your head examined.
Are you saying he was mistakenly 10 yards offsides?

Either way, way to insult someone over a comment about your favorite team. Maybe they'll send you a free jersey.

Small nitpick, it can't be roughing as the play never happened. It would be a personal foul for a late hit or unsportsmanlike.

Insult? No, it was calling it what it was, an overreaction to a play.

He was trying to block a FG. He wasn't trying to injure anyone.

if sherman's not careful, he will too by the end of this game.

on replay you can see him actually dive past the ball to hit carpenter. he was there so early he could have literally grabbed it out of the holder's hands. guys do not practice FG edge blocks where you hit the kicker behind the holder, they generally try to go across the kicker's face to get the ball. he clearly hit the man instead of the ball there in a situation where the man was defenseless. i am generally a fan of sherman but that was dirty as fuck.

Then call it an overreaction as opposed to the ad hominem.

That was nowhere close to an attempt at a block.. he dropped his shoulder into his knee.

So if it wasn't roughing the kicker according to the refs then by that logic it wasn't running into the kicker either. Can't wait to hear Blandino dance around this one.

The NFL rule book says a fourth timeout (necessitating the player having to sit a play) is not called if the injury "is a result of a foul by the opponent". I think you can make the case, even without an unsportsmanlike call, that the injury resulted from the offside player.

That makes too much sense
