I would let Massey go over Thybulle, who has become an excellent situational defensive option for Doc, especially late in games. Five steals last night, four in the first quarter when he started in place of Simmons. Made all five shots from the field, including three treys. Thybulle reminds me of a great Celtics defensive weapon, Don Cheney, who got lost when traded away. His skills suited a championship contender, not a team where he would have to supply offense.
I have always admired Lowry but worry about the fit, local boy coming home, trying to do too much. Danny Green is supposed to go in a Lowry swap for money purposes. So I guess Thybulle would still have a role.
Maxey looks like a player who could take over the point on a mediocre team and fill it up, sort of like Terry Rozier. Great handle, creates his own shot. Maxey and Shake are similar players so one has to go.
It’s Daryl Morey’s world. I like this team but no way they beat Brooklyn as currently constituted.
