today makes no sense... Lets see what the cost will be
Ha ha, classic. So are they moving on from 3+ years of Luke Voit?
Aguilar still out there.I mean, reactionary BS and all, but it's pretty inexcusable given the Red Sox hole at 1B to be beaten out by that team for Rizzo.
Every other contender and even some pseudo-contenders have made deals so far and Chaim is just letting it happen. I know the deadline isn't today but it's becoming more concerning by the minute
He is hurt all the time, much like Hicks, hard to count on those guys. But yeah, I'm confused, I think more deals are coming still (for NY).Ha ha, classic. So are they moving on from 3+ years of Luke Voit?
There’s still time and we aren’t desperate like the MFY.Ridiculous. So far Rays and Yanks have improved. Sox have made no move.
But unlike the Yankees we're considered legit contenders right now, and outside maybe the Giants we're the only ones that haven't improved the team at all. There’s still time and we aren’t desperate like the MFY.
This team doesn't need another anti-vax guy anyways.Rizzo is probably like the 6th best option of guys we could trade for at first. Whatever.
Agreed. However, it appears now they lost out on Scherzer, Gallo, Rizzo and 2/3 went to NY which is never great. There’s still time and we aren’t desperate like the MFY.
Funny how the teams with the best records in baseball are the ones being judicious with their resources. Purely a coincidence, I'm sure. But unlike the Yankees we're considered legit contenders right now, and outside maybe the Giants we're the only ones that haven't improved the team at all.
This also isn’t tennis, where set point approaches IF THEY DONT ACQUIRE A GUY RIGHT FUCKING NOW.I kind of dig that Bloom is playing it out like his team is in first place. It's easy to go knee-jerk and demand moves in the face the Rays and Yankees improving, but there's time left and plenty of good pieces out there to compliment a very solid group already in place.
Berrios, Kimbrel, Aguilar would all be big additions and they’re still there for the taking. These other players coming off the board maybe even decreases the list of suitors and makes it more likely we snag one or more.A
Agreed. However, it appears now they lost out on Scherzer, Gallo, Rizzo and 2/3 went to NY which is never great.
This is basically where I’m at. I’ll be severely disappointed if we stand pat, but there’s plenty of time to make one or more impactful moves. There’s still time and we aren’t desperate like the MFY.
Because we don’t want to overpay. A team 8 back has different priorities. If we trade for no one, there better be a damn good reason at this point.
Well, we know nothing for sure about anything. BUT .... Rizzo is also a very good fielder. Cordero has just been transitioned to the position ..I know others here aren’t so high on Franchy, but I still think he can be an impact player for us. How sure are we that Rizzo’s next two months would be better than Cordero? Especially if it costs us prospects and the opportunity cost of seeing what he can do? I’m pretty sure is time in Worcester gained the team an extra year of arb control. I like Aguilar and Cron and all that, but Cordero has been looking good and it could be a lot more valuable to our future to see Cordero get a chance now that he’s healthy.
He might not do something huge, it’s certainly possible, but you don’t just stand pat when you have a team this good. He’ll make an addition, maybe even 2 or 3. I’d be shocked if we’re in the spot we’re at now at 4pm tomorrow. Not ready to jump off a bridge but getting a little anxious here. Get someone good, Chaim. They’re out there.
Agreed. I think he’s got something cooking but I’m not the most patient sports fan here! I do love the arms race going on here. Last 60 games and playoffs should be awesome. He might not do something huge, it’s certainly possible, but you don’t just stand pat when you have a team this good. I hope the Sox have a plan C, because neither of those teams will have a hard time putting up better prospects than the Sox.
Careful with that. It’s just luck that we haven’t had one.View: https://mobile.twitter.com/keithlaw/status/1420878090687877127
They might be 9 games back in the win/loss column but they’re 2 games up in the outbreak column.
