    I think it's doubtful that 'market rate' is 6/144 I think it's prob more like 7/175, but if it IS 6/144 they may have decided if they're going to pay that they might as well get a pick and a player out of the situation (and have 3 more months of good health/performance) than sign him right away.

    FWIW someone else who would know (unlike me) thinks pretty much the same as you Marciano.  Thinks he has some power but that he gets hit too much and thinks against someone who can hit back or not get hit he'll lose.  He thinks Cotto would beat him, although he's also Puerto Rican.

    I usually think oddsmakers are pretty accurate but you're right with a few of these they might not be.   Those sound about right to me, although I really think he'd handle Canelo pretty easily, and I don't think there's anything special about JCC.     I think he'd be an underdog against Ward...

    Golovkin vs. Canelo or Cotto would sell out easily, and I have to think that GGG would be favored against both right?     I have no idea whether he's a 'great fighter' or not, but why don't you think he is Marciano?  If by great you mean 'top 3 pfp in the world' that's a pretty high bar.
