Tampa got crushed tonight, too.  This is a big week for the B's.... a regulation win tomorrow gets them within 6 points of Tampa with a game in hand, and another against the Rags solidifies their position in the top 8 of the conference.  The Bruins have quietly pulled to within just a few points of the top 3 in the division, although the Wings and Scabs still have a game or two in hand.

These feel like two really important mid-season games.

Haven't the B's played more games than anyone else so far?

Answered my own question: nope, they haven't.  Rangers the lowest at 39, TB tied with others for the lead at 44, Boston is at 43.

The Bolts enter tonight as the #1 Corsi and Fenwick team tonight so this will be a nice challenge for the Bruins. The B's do get the benefit of the schedule in their favor and Tampa is limping in without Hedman and Johnson after getting pounded in Philly last night. Still a tough test for the B's and this should be a good test to gauge how well they stack up against the elite teams in the East.

In their last 14 games, the Bruins are 7-2-5, for a .678 point percentage.  When they won the cup, their point % was .628.  I'm optimistic about their new trajectory.

I dunno, all those shootout losses tell me they're not going to be prepared for those playoff games where the shootout really matters.

Nah, getting rid of Thornton is where it's gonna hurt. Those seven minutes of ice time were quality minutes.

Great poll question from NESN:  Of these 4 #1 overall picks, who will win the Stanley Cup First?
Ovechkin
Nash
Stamkos
Tavares

Stamkos is most likely, but I can see Tavares and the Isles making a run.

Jack says "Canpbell patient stickhandling" and I see "Campbell holding onto the puck too long, getting stripped leading to an extra 30 seconds of zone time and three quality shots"

McQuaid and Miller can't possibly both deserve to play over Bartkowski, can they?  I actually though Matt was playing pretty well...

The primary issue IMO is that Seidenberg's lost the mobility to play his off side. Krug doesn't have the smarts to play there in his own end, so Claude is kind of stuck with lefties stuck on the left so long as Krug's in the lineup

Paille and Hamilton both had the puck on their sticks and just threw the puck back to the point man.
The whole team has done that more this year than i can remember them doing under Claude.  It's like an epidemic.
