It's amazing how the on-ice officials missed that call.

Well, maybe not so amazing given the state of officiating we've seen recently.

If you ask me the league is downright hypocritical for suspending a player for an in-game action they weren't even penalized for during the game.

But that's probably one of the many reasons the league never asks me.

Yeah, just because something gets missed by the refs in real time, doesn't meant he player shouldn't be penalized in some way.  I can see how the move by Marchand could have been missed...he did a pretty good job of making it look like he was just out of control a bit, but he certainly deserves the suspension.  You simply don't pull someone down from the front while sticking your leg out behind them, especially that close to the boards.  He's lucky Brassard wasn't hurt on the play, because it likely would have been a longer suspension.

Yeah that's fair. I left out the part where I agree it's important to get it right for player safety - always on board with that.

Mostly it was a comment they should be able to get the call right in game. If everyone saw it at home, the announcers saw it, the bench saw it - there's no reason for it not to be called during the game itself.

Looks like Paille is skating with Bergeron line and Caron on the fourth.

Prout scratched for the Blue Jackets. Interesting, coach avoiding Lucic confrontation or is he banged up?

Edit; seeing conflicting information on Prout. Not sure if playing or not.

WTF is the refereeing agenda against the Bs? Hair trigger calls against and high-threshold infractions for the opposition. I'm so sick of this crap. I sure hope somebody is compiling the non-calls and tick tack stuff and sending the tape to the league on a weekly basis. failing that, I want to see Stephane Quintal partying on the Bs bus with Charlie Jacobs.

Soderberg line and Campbell line getting better pressure in offensive end than the PP unit was to start the period.

Winnipeg is the only team with a larger negative differential between power play time and penalty kill time. -56:08 for Boston and -58:04 for Winnipeg entering tonight.

And it's like this every year. Punished for playing the game the right way. And were it not for Marchand there wouldn't be a single player whom you'd expect to take a dive. Hartnell's dive? Hamilton goes. Blue Jacket holding the stick? Kelly goes. Kreider dumps Soderberg and Kelly defends him? Four on four. It's killing me right now.

So in retrospect, that Tyler Seguin trade, not looking so hot.
Take it to the main board thread, there's been more than enough discussion about it.

Ah well, nice run Tito.

They may as well just play with a white flag hanging off the bench when they put McQuaid out there.

Claude has to stop using Paille or Campbell on the top three lines. I don't fucking care if Marchand isn't there - call up someone who won't trip over himself in the offensive zone.

Paille and Campbell destroyed that line tonight.
