The T on Joe after a blown call kind of matters now
I don't know, tough to say if Joe's T actually helped buy a call later, lit a fire under his players, etc? Only one point, so I don't fault him if he felt like it is needed.

Edit: And yeah, not even made in any case.

The Celtics have played, what, 1 game all season where they didn’t have a genuine chance to win it pretty late into the game?

Thinking the Orlando one. The IST game they pulled away lateish IIRC. Really impressive season we’re putting together.

The moving screen called on Tatum really bothered me. Just the kind of dumb call that other teams stars never seem to get called for.

Completely out of the flow of the game, run of the mill physicality. Showed a real lack of awareness for the game situation. More seasoned refs probably let that go as they should.

Not the outcome I wanted but that was an absolutely fantastic thoroughly entertaining NBA basketball game.

Jaylen and Jrue combined 6-26 and 2-13 from deep. Hard to overcome that level of suck from two starters and win but they almost did. Can’t get too worked up.

Helluva game, at least what I got to see between League Pass intermittent signal drops.

Bah. Loved the fight in the fourth and the quality of the offense throughout. Cs had 12 more free throws, ended up having one more shot, and had nine more boards, with just one fewer assist. Really, it's the four turnovers and Jaylen being ice cold from three. But about as close as game as you get. Fun stuff.

Yup, and regardless of outcome, you can't simulate that kind of late game, behind a couple baskets situations. Loses like this are the best kind of loses for the team. Certainly not for much of SOSH though ha

Here
I know KP scored eventually, but with 14 seconds down 2 possessions, you need to call timeout, advance the ball, and run a play to get a shot off faster. Over ten seconds to take a shot there is too long.

Also, Chet is really the perfect player to pair with Shai and Jalen Williams looks like a young Kawhi out there sometimes. OKC is a really good team. Incredible how young they are.

Still think some Oshae could have done some good in the 3rd when the D couldn’t give two shits. PP/White/KP ended up providing the needed boost in the 4th along with Tatum taking the reins at both ends but needed that energy earlier.

Of their 7 losses, 3 came in OT. One (tonight) was by 4 points, one by 3 points. Even in the 10-point Indiana loss, they were down by just 4 with 10 seconds left. Their only real bad game was indeed the Orlando loss the day after Thanksgiving. They may lose a few games, but this is a REALLY tough team to beat.

This doesn’t bother me. They were going to need to run a possession without a timeout one way or another at that point.

Ehh, I didnt mind it. Got a wide open (shoulda been) 3, probably a better shot than an out of bounds play.

Scoring with more than 3 seconds left and still having your timeout to advance the ball is enough time for a reasonable chance to tie.

OKC made both FTs so it didn't matter regardless, but the decision by Joe definitely didn't bother me at all given they only had 1 TO left and only 1 chance to advance the rest of the game.

I think JB just had something off with his rhythm. On that wide open look late in the game he just did not look comfortable shooting it. Ball came out way wrong. Wasn’t in the pocket tonight.

Damn the LeBron foot on the line?
“Honestly, the corner is a little bit dangerous for me,” Porzingiis said. “I’m afraid of stepping out because my stance is a little bit wide, so I was a little bit afraid of stepping out and stepping on the line. And then I was right on the line. So, tough one. That would have made a little bit of difference there.”

Fun game. OKC is quite good. I did watch this game on an Oculus and in the NBA Arena portion of the Meta virtual world. That was an awesome way to watch the game. The view was from the half court line between the benches at floor level. The view would switch to behind the basket when free throws were being taken. This is probably really old news but its new to me. Will definitely be watching more NBA games when they are shown that way. Plus no commercials just watched the in arena entertainment like I was in the building.
