I love how two games of Jrue having subpar offensive games has the Port Cellar ready to throw him to the timberwolves.

Yeah…I don’t see that anywhere. But ok.

People were overrating the shit out of his offense earlier. This is a natural progression. Soon, it will settle in to the appropriate level (although he will definitely have haters. Thays the way it goes for every Celtic not named Jayson Tatum. Maybe ever)

When the new car smell wears off of Jrue, I wonder what the consensus in these game threads will be about him
Again, I agree with where you are going with this. A lot of the Jaylen complaints are essentially familiarity breeding contempt. All these players are flawed including Jrue and Porzingis and even Tatum.

His offensive game has definitely been overrated by a lot of people. I’m somewhat surprised because everyone agreed that he’s not good enough to be the #2 option on any team that wants to do anything but I guess hope springs eternal with new players
True, but as the fifth option he's damn good. I thought his decision making was a lot better than it is though, late game should basically always be White or Tatum initiating.

Jrue has been fine tonight imo. He’d have 10 assists if they hit some open shots.

No arguments there whatsoever.

I think Jrue is a damn good player but a good deal of posters are acting like he’s prime CP3….hes not. He’s a good offensive player, that needs to be a 3rd option or worse on a championship team.

I think that was proven in his time in Milwaukee. Without Middleton, that team just didn’t have the offensive juice

Yeah I’m not saying Jrue is a bad offensive player, I just thought he was a little better at creating his own shot than he has shown so far. Also hoping his outside shooting improves.

100% agree.

I’m only surprised about Jrue because this was the book on him when he came here. I mean, we all witnessed it.

You can live with those plays from Tatum there with the clock situation and lineup.

Maybe we should accept that stellar defenders may have offensive flaws, especially when they try to do too much. Step on Marcus Smart!

This game will probably be decided by how the Celtics play when Tatum has to rest. He's already at 32 minutes, largely because of the Brown foul situation.

Good point, and a smart coach would use his TOs strategically to keep him fresh. Well, at least one here.

Maybe losing one of these games will shake the C's out of their lethargy.

100%.

I’ve had a good read on Jrue from watching him throughout his career. Awesome defender, good offensive player. On a championship team, he’s a 3rd option or worse.

I kind of thought everyone knew that but it seems like people (after the first week) thought he was way more than that offensively…he’s not.

The “negativity” around him is people recognizing that and course correcting. I’m always in here telling people to be less negative about players not named Tatum…this isn’t that

He is. Jrue is very good at it when he is one of the primary options. You can tell that he's still trying to figure out when to look for his offense and when to distribute to the big guns. As I've preached forever, basketball is a game of reacting, not thinking. He's out there thinking which is not good.
